Nina Cherie Franklin, PhD, MS, NCTMB-LMT, ACSM-HFSNina Cherie holds a B.S. in Kinesiology, an M.S. in Movement Sciences with a concentration in Applied Exercise Physiology, and is a PhD n Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Rehabilitation Sciences with concentrations in Integrative Vascular Biology and Exercise Physiology. Her research interests are focused on specific mechanisms whereby exercise training and proper nutrition stave off cardiovascular disease and related risk factors including obesity, hypertension, and type II diabetes mellitus. Nina Cherie is also interested in potential mechanisms by which a coupling of exercise and massage therapy can beneficially impact cardiovascular health, specifically the vascular system. She is currently funded on a grant from the Massage Therapy Foundation for a project entitled the "Efficacy of Massage Therapy in Attenuating Vascular Dysfunction after Exertion-Induced Muscle Injury". In the longer term, Nina Cherie seeks to promote health and fitness through initiation of community-based prevention and intervention research with programs that provide exercise prescription and programming as well as lifestyle, nutrition, and weight management counseling to those who otherwise would not have access to such services. From a professional standpoint, Nina Cherie is the founder of Complete Health Solutions, L3C, a hybrid nonprofit health and wellness consulting firm. In addition, she holds current certifications as a Clinical Massage Therapist through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB), a Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and a Group Exercise Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).
