FERRETS

Wife, mother, sister. I was a country girl from Washington replanted in Boston as a teenager. Raising my family in Kent WA amongst my dogs, cats, ferrets and teenagers.

I worked for a pet ferret company for years and recently started working for Prairie Wildlife Research which specialize in the endangered Black-Footed Ferrets.

Jenny Crowl is an independent writer living in the beautiful Skagit Valley. Married for 6 years she lives with her husband, two children as well as the households many pets, 3 cats, 2 ferrets and 1 dog.

I am a native Kansan from a large family of three brothers and two sister. I married young, however, have managed to stay married to the same man for almost 30 years. My husbands name is Gene and I have a wonderful grown daughter, Miranda whom is married to the most wonderful son-in-law of all time, Jeffrey. They have provided me with two grand dogs, Gidgit and Moose and two grand ferrets, Hodini and Gus. I also have two young boys, Nicholas and Alexander that keep me very busy. The boys and I are dyslexic and ADD so our house tends to be a bit loud, wild and chaotic, at best. We live on a small farm with our beloved German Shepherd, Silky. Three family ferrets (Snow, Annie and Buddy) and two equine companions (Buddy pony and Cassie). Everyday is an adventure for us, and a challenge and in true country spirit we meet it head on. I love to garden, mow, spend time outside and believe it or not, hang laundry out on a clothesline. Being dyslexic has enabled me to be creative, handy and a bit crafty, and inventive. I love architecture, researching and crocheting among just a laundry list of likes and abilities. Hey, I am ADD so I am all over the place....:)

I've been owned by ferrets for over 20 years. I love all animals, but find ferrets so completely mischievious and intelligent that I just can't get enough of watching them play. I run a ferret shelter (about 4 years now) and a club (about 10 years).

I graduated high school with a 4.5/4.0 GPA due to excelling in honors and AP classes. I took a year off and then went to college for two years for my Associates in Science degree. I was three credits shy from receiving my degree before life intervened and I had to refrain from registering for the consecutive semester, due in the most part to education expenses on top of my everyday living expenses and necessary bills. I have merely been working to save up so that I can continue my schooling and receive my Bachelor's in Wildlife Biology. To name a few occupational places, I've worked for an animal shelter, a canine day-care (which closed down due to economical hardship), and was finally employed by the United States Postal Service as a Casual employee. I am currently arduously pursuing permanent USPS employment so that I can finally go back to school for my wildlife degree. In the meantime, I have been writing and editing my novels and hopelessly seeking publication. Wildlife and writing would have to rate as my two deepest passions. I was raised around a plethora of different animal specimans. Chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, goats, sheep, ostriches, snakes, iguanas, turantulas, mice, ferrets, cats and dogs, etc. One of my greatest hobbies was to breed turkeys and sell the young, or incubate abandoned eggs and raise the young myself. The wild world has always fascinated me, and I have always found myself more comfortable around my animals or amidst the trees of a secluded forest than around strangers or amidst a legion of homo sapiens.

Zara Castine, B.A., CPDT-KA, is a certified professional trainer and behavior consultant. Her background includes a B.A. in Clinical Psychology, certification from the CCPDT (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers), and membership in the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers). She is also an alumni and Mentor Trainer of ABC (Animal Behavior College). She specializes in aggression, fear management, and obedience training in and around the Las Vegas valley. Although her main focus is canines, Zara has worked with a wide range of animals from horses to ferrets. Zara applies the science and psychology behind learning to help animals learn new behaviors and overcome old ones. It is because of this background that she understands the value of positive, compassionate methods when working with any animal. She has authored numerous articles on the subject of animal behavior and training as well as published a cookbook for dogs and their families. Zara's approach uses positive reinforcement, a technique that has had amazing results across the board for many years. Steven Roush is an aspiring actor and screenplay writer focusing mainly on the comedic and fiction genres.  As a former scrap business owner Steven was an accomplished at running his small business but always longed to become a writer. Steven has written numerous plays and is currently negotiating with several producers for production rights. Steven is a native of Pennsylvania who for the last several years has enjoyed living in the South. Steven enjoys writing, acting and considers himself an accomplished Apple Computer aficionado.  Animals also play a big part of Steven's life, he has two ferrets, one dog and two cats. He also enjoys boating, fixing and tinkering with various motors and electronics.Â
