  • Christy Reynolds
I am a student and teacher of philosophy at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where I live with my husband and two cats. Right now, I am working on my dissertation, which focuses on the representation of ecological disasters in the media. I also suffer from fibromyalgia, a debilitating chronic illness that causes widespread pain and fatigue, and since my diagnosis in January 2010, I have been learning how to manage my symptoms while finishing up school. I practice yoga regularly, and am learning everything I can about traditional Chinese medicine. I also follow a dairy- and gluten-free diet, and find it to be a great excuse to try out new foods and learn new recipes. When I'm not philosophizing, doing yoga, or cooking, you can probably find me biking around town, gardening, or taking in a good movie.

  • Katherine Hoskins Burchett
My husband and I met in church and married 5 weeks later. I have three children... two grown sons and a teenage daughter. I also have a beautiful, talented daughter-in-law. Her very best talent of all is providing me with grandchildren! I have a new baby granddaughter and one on the way! I wear all dresses/skirts... just because I want to. I am a beloved daughter of the Most High King. My favorite color is pink. I struggle daily with fibromyalgia & spinal stenosis. We wage war everyday against chemicals in our food, skin care products, cleaning products, and other areas of our lives. We feel these chemicals make us sick. We believe in God's plan for marriage... that is, the husband is the head of the household and the wife is the heart. I am a non-working Registered Nurse, which only adds to my extreme interest in herbal & natural healing. I have come to believe that man cannot improve on God's medicine chest. I am a die-hard anti-feminist. My children think I am strange, but they love me anyway. I am passionately pro-life. I have two sisters who are my best friends. We are not the perfect family, but we are successful because we love each other and enjoy each other's company. I believe in freedom, the will of the people, and very limited government. I was raised in Appalachia & will always be a mountain girl at heart. Daisies are my favorite flowers. I think teenagers are amusing. I have an inner redneck that sometimes comes out at the most inopportune moments.
