I've been in NYC for two years choreographing, teaching and performing various dance, burlesque and circus pieces at Silhouette Dance Studio, SHOCKra Studio and Trapeze School New York. I came from two years working as the choreographer/director of two different resorts, Club Med and Club Maeva, from multiple locations in Mexico, the Turks & Caicos Islands and Florida. Prior to this, I was finishing my bachelor's degree in dance, journalism, French and international studies at California State University, Long Beach. I was accepted as an intern to Dance magazine my senior year, jumped on a plane and flew across the country two days after graduation. I started working as the copy and production editor for Movmnt Magazine, while writing two books that I would later publish, "Vital Energy" and Flicker. I was also freelancing intermittently for Beautiful/Decay, Ehow, E.L.M., L.A. Splash, Move, Suite 101 and Valley Scene magazines. While preparing for graduate life, I was the managing editor for the campus magazine called DIG, and DJing a radio show on campus called L'Ambiance under the alias Jazzerina Jaye. That year, I was also the choreographer for an American Basketball Association team, The Buzz's dance team, the Honeybees. This was after I had spent a busy year writing, dancing and soul-searching in Aix-en-Provence, France. I published articles in French for IEFEEXpress and Ladies Room magazines before moving to Italy for a dance intensive with ProDanza Italia/USA. Before I lived in Europe, I was the city editor for the CSULB's newspaper, The Daily Forty-Niner, while teaching dance class every night at 24 Hour Fitness locations all over Southern California. I also interned at Fox News Channel in L.A. to better understand broadcast media. I danced in SuperBowl XXXVII's Pregame and Half-time shows, as well as a runway fashion show for L.A. Models while still in high school. At this time, I was also writing and editing for my school's newspaper, The

I was born in NYC in 1955. That makes me a pure baby boomer . I have a Masters in Tourism and Travel Management from NYU and a Bachelors degree in French and Spanish from the Stony Brook University in NY. For 20 years, I enjoyed a globe-trotting career in airline and hotel sales. Then I became a teacher of French, Spanish, and ESL in an inner-city high school. After 7 years, strange symptoms led to a diagnosis of ALS/Lou Gehrig s Disease, which put me in a wheelchair and stole my ability to speak. I am forever Forced to Sit Still and Shut Up , so I write. Oh, and I also help rescue rabbits and I am the proud mom of Chelsea, my gray rescued house rabbit. I m quite a foodie and truly live you are what you eat and I love to study history and culture, and watch indie films.
  • Mynette Jones
I'm an American girl who moved to Quebec City in 2010 to speak French and discover this beautiful city. I do photography as a hobby for the moment, hoping to turn it into something more! I just became an official tour guide for Quebec City because I love traveling and teaching others about Quebec City. A part from my love of Quebec and photography, I also really love making and editing videos. I'm good at putting videos together with music to make a really great montage. I love everything where I can be creative and artistic. I used to work at a radio station and I was a member of a public-speaking team that traveled around and did contests. I'm really outgoing and I'm not afraid to talk in front of a lot of people. I'm also used to working with children. I have worked in multiple daycares and I worked in an elementary school as a teacher's aid as well as tutoring children in French and English.

Goodness, where do I start? I like just about every subject. I maintain an active interest in culture, politics, international affairs, Bollywood, cooking, animals, religion, science, academia, just about everything. I can read and write in both French and English, and I have often been told that I have a more Asian perspective than an American one. I suppose this makes me strange, but what would the world be without strange folks to make it interesting?
