Michael was born in Cincinnati, but spent his formative years in North Carolina (his parents were divorced and his father resided in NC). Before converting to Catholicism, Michael volunteered with a protestant youth ministry called Young Life, which emphasizes building relationships with young people on their turf. Michael credits his Christian conversion to a few men from Young Life who met with him at his high school and had the courage to share the Gospel with him. Later embracing the truth of the Catholic Faith, Michael began volunteering with his wife in Catholic youth ministries, desiring to see Catholics share the truth with conviction, clarity and zeal. He ultimately found himself leaving a landscape design career in NC to work full time as a Youth Director at a parish in Florida. After working alongside the founder of a Catholic mentoring program, Michael left parish employment to help spread and develop that program. Michael is currently pursuing his M.A. in Theology at the Augustine Institute in Denver, where he lives with his wife and two kids. With a focus on family and prayer, Michael seeks desperately to be fully present in all things and live an abundant life. He's not quite sure if he's a poet or not.
  • Jane Away
Born in a small prairie town, I currently live in a slightly larger prairie town, and in spite of our ideological differences, I remain hopelessly enamoured with the mid-west. My values are distinctly family oriented and socially liberal- I care about what's best for people, animals and the planet as a whole, interconnected organism. In a healthy society, what's best for your neighbour works out to be what's best for you too- it behooves us all to work together to support and provide for each other and our world. I am an artist, a mother, and an ardent slave to many animals, including cats, dogs, birds, rodents, lizards and tarantulas. I'm particularly fascinated with animal psychology lately, and I enjoy observing their individual motivations and learning processes through their interactions with humans and each other. It's good practice for raising teenagers. I've been involved in various online communities since the late nineties in a variety of capacities, and find online relationship dynamics fascinating as well. The success or ultimate demise of online communities and what factors contribute to this are of particular interest to me, and I've probably spent more time than it's wise to admit studying these factors in depth. There's nothing more fun than watching the rise and fall of civilization on a micro-scale.

My name is Jessica, and I'm going to be entering my second year of college in the fall. My prospective major is biology, with a possible minor in geology, and I have always loved science. However, I also follow my own non-academic creative endeavors--I've written my own stories and poems since elementary school, and through high school participated in (and won) National Novel Writing Month several times. I also do a lot of digital photography on my own (I am the proud owner of a Canon Rebel XS), and had the pleasure of learning film/darkroom photography this past year. Along with these hobbies, I also enjoy plying ice hockey, tennis, and climbing trees in my spare time, and I also play on (and am captain of) the Oberlin Quidditch team. I have also been learning poi since february.

Countries lived in: USA, Germany, Denmark. Travels: Europe, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Oceana I am a wildlife artist turned conservationist and biologist. The book has been shaking up the scientific community. It is currently available through my main website and the publisher exclusively. This is in an effort to help create an underground market base in countries where the book may be banned for its fact sharing revelations. I am also fighting to enact a huge new conservation law that will have lasting and powerful global consequences toward creating a better environment for the future. I support Oceana, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Wild Aid, the Environmental Investigation Agency, and the Global Shark Initiative.
