I am a female freelance writer. A city girl gone country. I reside in my little house in the woods with my husband, 4 children, dog, cat, and fish. I love to watch from the window, the wildlife exploring the land around me. Coyotes, bob cats, deer and other animals have never fascinated me as they do now that I live among them. I was born a middle child, the second girl, my parents hoping I was a boy. Although they won't admit it, I believe that is why my name, Jamie, also belongs to the male gender. Fortunately, child number three was a boy and I had the luck of growing up with a younger brother. In addition to writing, I am fluent in American Sign Language and work as a freelance and video interpreter. I enjoy working as a mediator between deaf and hearing people and have grown a deep respect for the Deaf culture, the richness of its history and the language they enjoy. I pray to live long enough to see my children walk down the aisle, and my husband lose his hair, and me, my own. That means we made it! The book of my life is still being penned, hoping to add many more chapters.

A child of the '80's, I have been fascinated with cooking and photography since childhood. After graduating from the University of Southern California, I worked professionally as a photographer, nearly went to cooking school, and had a brief fling with keeping a food blog. In 2006 I moved to Berlin, Germany, where I had plenty of adventures, took lots of pictures, and discovered my love of language learning and ex-pat culture.

Rosetta Taylor holds both a Masters degree in English Language and Literature from Oxford University and a professional accounting qualification. She was an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) for more than twenty years, and during her accounting career worked for a variety of multinational companies before becoming Chief Financial Officer of the Australian division of a Japanese multinational. Since retiring from the world of finance and rediscovering her literary roots she has had articles published in Australian magazines and broadcast on Australian national radio. Rosetta has travelled widely, both for work and for leisure, and speaks French with reasonable fluency.

Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, into a family of teachers, Paul moved to Japan in 1997 to teach English. He has since taught in the public and private system in Canada, at an International Baccalaureate school in Tokyo and at a Community College. Paul was born and grew up in Wisconsin. After earning a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in 1966, he served in the Navy for almost four years. Overseas assignments in Taiwan and Japan awakened Paul's interests in East Asian and Southeast Asian languages and culture which has continued to the present. Paul knows the Chinese Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Thai languages, After finishing a career with the federal government in 2007, Paul moved to Bangkok, Thailand, where he is now teaching English as a foreign language, writing, and studying about languages.

I have recently graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Psychology. I am presently employed as an Early Childhood Educator. My hobbies include web design and multimedia and I have been motorcycling daily for the past four years.

Jill has a degree in sign language interpreting and has experience in a wide range of situations such as court appearances, labor and delivery, surgery, educational settings, church services and Deaf theater. Jill grew up a Girl Scout, where a lot of her creativity for crafts stems from. She owns a home-based business, which involves handmade keepsakes for all of life's milestones. Jill loves to read, and has been writing poetry and journals ever since elementary. Her husband is a fireman, which proves a crazy life when he's off to work and Jill stays home with the kids, but she wouldn't have it any other way.

Meredyth Glass loves kids, toys, games, and writing. Before becoming a mom, she worked in early intervention teaching kids with special needs how to find their words and make friends through play. She has a BA in Anthropology and a Master's Degree in Speech, Language Pathology.

I'm second generation Chinese, but come from London, UK. My somewhat multicultural upbringing has pretty much ensured my interest in language and sociological things like identity, which is why I am now an undergraduate of English Language and Communication in Cardiff. Raised in an Army family, she has traveled and lived in various places in the USA and the world during her lifetime.
