I was born in a small town in southern South Dakota and lived on a farm and ranch all by growing up years. We had a big garden, livestock and farming. I went to a country school through the eighth grade that was a mile from home so therefore I walked. There were six of us children in the family and all attended the country school. I boarded in town and went through high school and attended one year of college in accounting. Through all of this I still liked the country living. I married a rancher and we had six children. I have had to work in town to help support the family and the last few years I have been able to live in the country and attend to my garden which is mostly flowers, sewing, traveling and picture taking. This last year I just started quilting and made a number of quilts for my children and grandchildren.
