  • Holistic Recovery Coach
If there is one thing I have learned in my years as a recovery coach, it is this: I cannot fix you; I cannot save you! I can, however, give you information, guide you and make suggestions. You decide whether to accept, reject or apply the information. This is YOUR life. Send queries, comments and feedback to recoverycorner@gmail.com. My role is not to come over to your house every day and give you a shower but I can tell you where the soap is, what to do with it, why you need it and the precautions to take so you do not slip and fall and hurt yourself, etc. Getting clean and staying clean is YOUR responsibility; mine is to provide you with the information you require to learn how to live life in a new way, with more peace, harmony and joy. When I talk about recovery from addictions, I mean addictive thought patterns that create addictive feelings which produce addictive behaviors. When you become aware of your thought process, you can learn how to change it to get different results. And what you recover is your SELF - your self-esteem, self-worth, self-love, self-reliance and self-confidence, etc. If that sounds like something you want to pursue, then read my column regularly and apply the information. Practice the techniques often. Repeat frequently and watch your life change!

  • Vicki Messer
In 1997 I began a personal journey of healing from years of childhood sexual abuse. For the better part of 10 years, I worked my way through the painful repressed memories of incest at the hands of several family members. Both during and following my own healing and recovery from these wounds, I began to reach out to help and encourage other survivors of sexual abuse and incest. This was done through writing about the recovery process and also through participating in leadership of recovery groups. It has always been my joy to see how God works His healing in the hearts and lives of so many victims and survivors of sexual abuse.
