Fareed DhanjiI was born in Bielefeld Germany. I moved to Canada when I was 7 years old. My moms from Pakistan and my dads from Africa. Speaking 4 languages fluently, i have a real appreciation for the nuances in the spoken word. I've always had an interest in the arts, well, most of them anyways. I remember being on a road trip with my grandma when i was young. She would draw these spectacular doodles of all sorts of different birds. I was in awe. To this day, however, I can hardly draw a stick man. Music and writing are at least something i have some talents in. There's nothing like locking yourself in a room with a piano and a guitar and just letting loose. I've lost hours without even being aware. In so far as writing goes, I love to read. Fantasy definitely tops my 'favourite genres' list but i'll try pretty much anything on a recommendation. A friend of mine convinced me to enter a 750 word or less short story competition. To my amazement i placed second! Since then writing has given me an outlet to express myself in ways i never knew i could.
Paul BakkerAfter a childhood filled with a passion for reading and writing, I finally built up enough confidence to share my work publicly in high school. I began writing for my school paper and quickly developed a knack for satire. I was awarded my own column and quickly rose through the ranks from Staff Writer to Assistant-Copy-Editor. During my senior year, I was promoted to Editor-In-Chief, a position that taught me how to strengthen my own writing by helping others to develop their skills. I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback I received from readers and honored to receive awards such as the Bank of America Communications Award, first place awards for news and opinion in a local competition, and best local high school paper. I currently attend California State University Long Beach, where I am majoring in Computer Science and contemplating a minor in Mathematics. For the time being, I consider writing as more of a hobby than a career. My other interests include political science, economics, exploring the Los Angeles area, watching sports (especially Lakers and Dodgers), and an occasional road trip with friends.

Woodcock JohnsonCocky Johnson was born in Florida to a well to do political family. As soon as he was old enough to read Mad Magazines he rejected almost everything he had been taught prior to 10th grade, except the things he agreed with. A true socio-political independent, Cocky supported Nixon (although he was only 12 years old) through out the Watergate scandal, and supported Clinton through the Lewinsky scandal. Cocky tends to support anybody currently involved in a scandal, dumping them soon after the scandal has abated. Cocky has written 15 unpublished books which begs the question: "Who the hell is paying Cocky Johnson's bills if he has time to write 15 books?" Some questions will never be fully answered. Cocky has advanced degrees in several subjects that few Americans give a damn about, and yet this knowledge adds tremendously to the body of work that is Cocky Johnson. Cocky is currently working on his 16th book entitled: "Broken Windshield" the story of a road trip to NYC gone bad...all rights reserved. It should be noted that Cocky may or may not have brain damage from 12 years of playing football.
Jason BornsteinI was raised in Durham, New Hampshire, a small university town in the southeast corner of the state. My father teaches audiology at the university and my mother teaches kindergarten at one of the local public schools nearby. From an early age my parents would read and sing to me, interacting with me very much on the level of sound and theatrical gesture. These experiences fostered in me a deep love and appreciation for the sounds of words and the drama and richness they are capable of creating. I first began writing seriously at the age of eight with the school publication of "Super Worm," which followed the swashbuckling adventures of an ordinary earthworm endowed with superworman strength. Since that first taste of immersed writing I have never looked back. I have three years of experience at the university level in English and Spanish, as well as a myriad of interesting life experiences such as taking on the role of a live-in nanny for a child with special needs for a year, spending a spontaneous, crazy night of waiting tables in the very center of Madrid, Spain, and going on an eastern seaboard road trip with my pregnant wife for five months before ultimately settling in Asheville, NC and manifesting our dream home!
Lucas BoylesI am a technology enthusiast from Iowa interested in writing and amateur photography. I frequently road trip across state lines to see check out my favorite music acts live and write about my experiences. I also share my thoughts on new media and the social web industry, covering anything from new, innovative ideas to how average every-day consumers are or are not accepting and using new technologies. Outside of writing, I love amateur photography, no matter how bad the outcome of a picture, and sound production/engineering.
Anna PurcellI'm an American living in Italy and busy learning how to cook with tomatoes on a daily basis and working toward painting a masterpiece someday. In the middle of it all I take advantage of every opportunity for a road-trip so that i can taste a new food or find a hidden work of art. Daily life finds me chasing a two-year old as well and laughing at plenty of Italian-English babble.
BJ KnappBJ Knapp loves a good adventure. She can be found on the water, under the water, near the water or thinking about the water. She dives, sails, paddles, hikes, camps and is always up for a road trip.
Jenny TorgersonI review books and anthologies in the horror, fantasy, futuristic, urban fantasy, and paranormal romance categories. Most of what I will be posting here at AC falls into that category. I write the occasional poem or short story and have had several items published in small but reputable on-line venues. I have one parody book - "Tabloid Purposes: A Road Trip" - out as a free PDF at Lulu. See the links below or search Lulu for the title. Did I mention it's free?

Bj WoodRaised in the Pacific Northwest, I mistakenly thought "Happiness was Oregon in My Rearview Mirror". I have since traveled the 48 contiguous states again and again. I have been well off middle class and I have been poor and literally homeless. I raised two children by myself. I am a practicing Catholic and from that point of view, have learned to enjoy life as a fascinating journey; sometimes a thrill ride, and sometimes a trudge through a muddy field, but always worth the trip.

Claire MombergerRaised in Texas, Utah, and around Asia, Claire caught the travel bug early and hasn't stopped. Her most recent trip was to Ireland, if she could go anywhere next it would be to Peru. Or Greenland.Or Botswana. Or India. Or, really, anywhere. Now she lives in Texas where she sadly cannot ski but can do yoga, read everything she can get her hands on, and try to learn new stuff like sewing (she's up to three receiving blankets and a skirt) and road biking. For the past four years she's worked with women with eating disorders and has a strong interest in women's health, body image, and gender studies. She continues to be a strong advocate for healthy body image and healthcare.
