  • Megan Clothier
My name is Megan, I am a 20-something with a old soul. I love aprons, cookie cutters, over-sized cups of tea and getting dirt under my nails. www.roamyourwayhome.ca is all about my (somewhat accidental) journey "Home". I am a kiwi kid, who left New Zealand at the tender age of 17 in search of something. I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for, but I was determined to find it. So, with a scarce amount of money in my pocket and all my worldly goods on my back - I set off. The next ten years saw me roaming through every corner of the world; Asia, Australia, Europe, Scandinavia, North America - and still nothing. I hadn't found it. In 2005, I found myself in Vancouver, Canada. My wallet was becoming very bare, so I decided it best to slow down, unpack, get a job, find an apartment and give this whole 'real world' thing a go. Not surprisingly, this definitely wasn't 'it', but the next 4 years flew by in a flash. I got caught up in a haze of deadlines, budget reports, rent payments and coffees-to-go. Along the way, I fell madly in love with a wonderful man, Alex. He truly is the love of my life - but much to my surprise - I still found myself searching for something more. In February of 2009, we bought our first house, a charming little 1928 bungalow just inside the Vancouver city limits. It was perfect, and it was ours. As the season turned to Spring and life crept in to the backyard, I began to feel it. Mornings were spent painting and sanding, afternoons were spent planting a veggie garden and evenings were spent cooking and sharing wonderful food. Oh yeah, I was feeling it. When the summer rolled in and the first potatoes were dug, the paint was drying and the hardware was my new hangout...it happened: I was Home.

She attended North Dakota State University, studying biochemistry and molecular biology. She has pursued research and teaching opportunities in this field and others, including her current job, as an English teacher in the developing country of Georgia. Throughout her life, she has been very involved in her Scandinavian culture and heritage. She plans to attend graduate school in the next year, and use her experience and education to teach children in areas that may otherwise have fewer opportunities in science education.

My target readers are women and men of substance with a passion for life, 35-55 years old, entering into the dating scene after a long relationship/marriage. I will be debating/covering relevant/intelligent dating matters of interest to single people actively dating, and people in general, living vicariously through people who date. The idea is to not only engage the heart but also the brain in the process of finding the perfect mate.

I would describe myself as a modern day hippie without the fashion statement. I often engage in escapism.
