I am proof the universe has a sense of humor and a sometimes not so pleasant way of teaching us life lessons. I was blessed with an ear for music, a good singing voice, a talent for drawing and the ability to empathize with peoples pain. Ironically I was also saddled with stage fright and penchant for solitude. I coasted through a good deal of my life, not really living it and had settled into a routine with my husband until the day he died of a heart attack. For 2 years I existed, living for his parents and keeping up appearances. Then came the day you could say I was reborn. Like the phoenix I went through a crucible of fire and came out the other side fundamentally changed. In another bit of irony, my loss made me a better person. I learned not to regret the past, to not worry about the future and to live in the moment. I learned money isn't what matters most and to appreciate what I have instead of daydreaming about what's on the other side of the fence. Seeing the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle up close and personal has inspired me write articles about healthy living and caring for the body and mind. The death of my husband painfully reminded me how short life is and to have the courage to really live it. It's also made me reevaluate my spirituality and figure out what that is. I've gotten a passion for several new hobbies I would never have tried before. Motorcycle riding, amateur landscape photography, antiquing, canning, rock climbing, scuba diving and sky diving. I can honestly say I've reached a spot where I understand living in grace and being lucky enough to have serenity.

  • Shane M. Coulter
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Growing up I played football, baseball and I wrestled seasonally for eight years. I went to Centennial H.S. and graduated with a Standard Diploma. Shortly after graduating I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a machine gunner, and I am currently a Lance Corporal. I've never been deployed so I would be classified as a "boot" in Marines' eyes. I don't mind because a lot of my personal views have changed any way. I am an enthusiast of a couple of out door activities or sports such as: snowboarding, running, trail running, hiking, and fishing. I have been snowboarding for six years and have been fishing and hiking most of my life. I just recently got involved in running and trail running. Other out door activities or sports I look forward to getting into are mountain biking, sky diving, base jumping, rock climbing, free climbing, and wake boarding. In the future I believe my calling is to be a missionary in Africa and I currently am doing all that I can do to prepare for that. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ and the bible, the Word of God. I gave my life to Jesus on July 12, 2009. I am an active Christian and would be willing to tell you more if you have questions.

  • Silviana Khurniawan
Was born and raised in Surabaya, Indonesia. At age 13, moved to Singapore to continue secondary school education. Upon secondary school completion, I moved to Los Angeles, CA to attend Santa Monica College. I transferred to University of Southern California and am currently and undergrad majoring in Communication. I am passionate about food and fashion. These two seemingly contradictory industries never fail to impress me. The hardest part is when I am devouring a delicious cupcake, I have to think about those bulging muffin tops that are going to show when I wear my new skinny jeans. I enjoy trying out adventurous activities such as surfing, snowboarding, diving, bungee jumping, and so on. I really want to try sky diving. Acquiring foreign languages is my other passion. Indonesian is my mother tongue and English is my second language. I understand basic Mandarin and have studied two semester of French. I would love to get the opportunity to further learn as many languages as I could.
  • Merissa Kelley
I'm a small town country girl, always have been. My husband and I are aspiring to build a ranch sometime in the next couple of years, complete with garden and all! I've been a songwriter since I've been able to write. Although I'm pretty sure the songs have gotten better as I got older. lol I love to pick apart people... sorry, but I do. I love to see the inside of people, who they really are. Of course, I love movies and the internet, who doesn't these days? I may have a settled home, but my husband and I are not even close to "settling down." We do some crazy things... sparkler bombs, target practicing, "muddin'", you name it we've probably done it. Except for sky diving... I'm a little afraid of heights.
