I love the ocean and simple seaside style. Casual coastal decorating is my favorite. Clean and often playful, it lends itself to favorite family collections, antiques, modern furniture, wild flowers and sailboats. Eclectic decorating style seems easy as there are no limits but this style takes a careful design touch to keep it from becoming junky looking. I've been doing coastal decorating for years and adore it. Add the internet for those coastal pieces you can't get on your vacation and everything is possible.

  • A. L. Warren
I grew up on the south shore of Long Island and lived here most of my life. Fishing has been a long time tradition and occupation in my family and I am the 3rd generation to fish the Great South Bay. My Grandmother took me to catch my first fish at a local pond when I was about 3 years old. Since then I have explored everything from Long Island's local freshwater streams which empty into the salty backbays to the ocean seashores to the deep water canyons... and I still enjoy casting a small lure in a tidal creek as much as I do deep water trolling for Bluefin Tuna. I cannot claim a formal financial education, but I successfully traded my first stock and stock options at the age of 18 quickly moving on to trading commodity futures and currency forwards. Years and a few occupations later, I now trade futures, options, and forwards full time for myself and still enjoy learning about the many facets of trading and economics, particularly as it pertains to speculation, derivatives, and the Austrian School of economic thought.
  • Loyd Taylor
Loyd was blessed to have been born into a large family of eleven siblings, five brothers and six sisters. His early years were spent as a simple country boy in what would be considered today as poverty. However, with the great love and support of a godly mom and dad and the closeness of a large family, Loyd considers himself to be rich. Part of his life was lived in a farming community in the Piedmont section of North Carolina, and the balance of the time was spent roaming the hills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Loyd attributes his source of inspiration and values in life to his modest and humble surroundings. His poem "Winter Time Memories" will give you a good glimpse into a part of his childhood. Loyd does most of his writing early in the morning; but usually has something to scribble notes on no matter where he is. It should not be a surprise that much of his writing reflects a deep sense of family, religious, and Southern roots. Inspiration also comes from the times he would sit with his mom and listen to old phonograph records. He attributes his romance and relationship poetry to the love he has found in his wife Kathy. They met in 1972, at a Friday skate- night, dated for just under three weeks, and then were married. Loyd is a Christian. His aim is to love God and, his wife, children, and grand-children. He tries to be a friend to anyone who would allow him to be. He loves life and just living. His attitude reflects a person who is thankful for every day that God gives! Loyd prefers the mountains above the ocean, but loves all of God's creation. He loves America, and respects and admires those who have served in the military to preserve her freedom! In concluding this brief profile and on behalf of Loyd, a big thank you to all who take of their precious time reading any of his works offered to you, the reader, from the heart of a simple poet, Loyd Taylor.
