THE SIMS

I was born in Columbus, Ohio, however I grew up and went to school in Bexley, Ohio. I was raised by a single mother with the assistance of my paternal grandparents. My mother gave me the gift of life and introduced me to Christ. Because of her, I am grateful to live my life as a Christian wife and mother. Growing up in my mother s home meant education was a priority. College was never an if. I just always understood that one goes to college after high school. Upon graduation from The Ohio State University, I began a 13 year career in public health and earned a Master s degree in Health Service Administration. But my first love has alwasy been education. As our economy took a turn for the worse in recent years, I have endured two job losses in the public health arena. I took the time to redirect my career back to education. I currently serve as the Deputy Director for a statewide non-profit that prepares priority population, low socioeconomic students for college entrance while nurturing their interest in a career in law. Rebuilding my career has been a challenge, but I remain blessed and willing to serve. I serve my church as a member of the Greeters Ministry and Through His Eyes Ministry; which ministers to our church and surrounding communities through performance of plays, praise and dance. I serve my community through active membership in The Columbus (OH) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and The Columbus Chapter of the Links, Incorporated. I am a former Sustainer with the Junior League of Columbus, Ohio. Currently, my family lives in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. I met my husband of 17 years as a child in church. We have a wonderful, handsome six year old son who keeps us busy and entertained.

Aries Sims grew up a daddy's girl! I live in New Mexico as a college student at the University. I enjoy writing about a plethora of topics, mainly dealing with culture and civilizations of yore.
