Travel and family are my two biggest passions in life. As a married father of two, I love incorporating both aspects of these into my life. I love to travel and write about travel and share my adventures and tips. However, being a parent has changed my life. I love my kids and want to be a great father. My views on parenting may be different, unique, or even controversial for some but my motive behind it is giving my kids the best life possible. Showing them this beautiful world we live in and being the best dad I can be is what drives me. So whether it is current issues that affect all of us, travel, sports, or kids, these are the things that matter to me.

Green Acres could be the title of my life if it was a reality show. I gave my husband 10 years in the city so now I have to give him 10 years on the farm. Sounded like an adventure and allowed me to quit working two jobs and I now stay home and homeschool our children. Everyday is an adventure between us. I wouldn't change any of it for anything.

I just had a birthday and was thinking, I've had a pretty awesome life! I'm a big traveler: France, Italy, Costa Rica, Israel, Jordan Hong Kong, Macau, and soon to be (as in this month!!!) in Poland, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Germany, England, and the Baltics. Also, big on traveling inside the US- people, this is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, especially Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon and Northern California! Also, I've lived in a really poor part of Los Angeles, a suburb, San Francisco, a ranch, in the woods, in a shack in the swamp and now an apartment 5 mins from the beach. By far the worst was the shack, the best is the beach apartment. In the past year I've gone from having everything a city could offer, to figuring out how to use my last $8 (as in really last- no job in sight) to buy food for a week. I've learned that miraculously, everything works out and if you really want to find a job then you will. I share the cutest puppy in the world (Twiglet: named for the British snack) with my wonderful boyfriend Alex- who is one of the most interesting characters you'll ever meet. He is a great photographer and I love going on random photo-taking dates with him.. Also, we just got bikes- they're the best, you transport yourself without using gas you get in shape at the same time! So awesome! Also, I'm managing the bus tour company Happy Wanders. . . so if you want to get a bunch of people together for a fun trip, let me know! The best part of life is doing the unexpected. Shock everyone you know at least once a year.
  • Rachael Brown-Goodman
Brought up in many states along the East Coast in a family with a diverse background, Rachael experienced a range of languages, cultures, and beliefs. Though Rachael spent much of her adolescent years in the mountains of New York, she was raised and later returned to the Carolinas, where she regained a sense of the diversity an area steeped in history and challenge had to offer. She continued her amazement with culture and people into college, being highly involved with several international organizations as well as cultural and educational groups and activities. Rachael finished a BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Anthropology. Her obsession with and strong connection to the past led her to begin work in CRM, or as some call it, Business Archaeology. During her free time she explored her Southern US and European roots, traveling along the East Coast and piecing together the family's past. After three years of digging, she moved abroad to study Near Eastern Archaeology, and began work on an MA in the 3D Digital Reconstruction of Archaeological sites, which combines her love of archaeology, artistic background, and family's influence of technology and computers. During part of her degree, she worked part-time for a Grassroots NGO serving the local community and was involved in several volunteer organizations. Rachael is currently finishing her Masters and working for a hi-tech corporation in one of the world's leading technological cities. Over the last few years she has had the privilidge to travel to various parts of the world, work with some of the most interesting and important experts in various fields of archaeology and technology, learn several new languages, and spend time giving back to her new community. She currently lives with her husband and spends much of the time entrenched in philosophical debate, which he doesn't mind, most of the time!
