MarainI was born in West Virginia and grew up in Northern Virginia across the Potomic from D.C. We moved around a lot because my dad was a plumber who worked on large building projects; in the winter, everyone would be laid off for a few weeks. Sometimes it was for a couple of months, so we would let our apartment go and he'd work in Florida til his job was open again back home. New apartment, new school, new start; I actually liked that. When I was 17, we moved to Tampa, Florida, where I finished High School (Go, Hillsborough!). I worked at a series of administrative (we called them clerical back then) jobs, then at 29 I joined the US Navy and became a Cryptological Technician for the Naval Security Group (cue the James Bond music). Two years of that was more than enough, so I switched to Yoeman (Navy secretary) and did two years each in the San Francisco Bay area and San Diego. Got married in the Bucket of Blood Saloon in Virginia City, Nevada in Civil War era garb; our wedding pictures are still sure-fire conservation starters. We had the world's greatest son (sorry, I know the rest of you ladies out there think your son's the greatest, but you're wrong) and eventually moved to Atlanta, GA. Now I'm 63, divorced, and apparently am entering a brand new phase of my life. Still great friends with my ex, my son continues to amaze me and everyone around him, I have a great brother and sister, aunts and uncles, and I live in the greatest apartment complex in Atlanta, in my opinion. Never thought I'd be into computers, but here I am, surfing and cut-and-pasting all over the place. Still a dinosaur, but it gets easier with time. I love writing, reading, knitting, crochet, walking, eating, and coming up with new ways to do old things. I hope I can write the kind of reviews people will find helpful and maybe sometimes even a little bit entertaining. Who knows?
Kathy McNamaraI am the owner of WalkForDogs, a dog walking company located in Overland Park, Kansas. I started the business because I understand that life can get a little hectic sometimes. Trying to juggle work, family, errands and exercising your dog can get pretty difficult. I also understand that dog owners may not be able to walk their dogs due to bad weather or illness. We have the solution at WalkForDogs. Locally owned and operated, we provide individualized care and attention for all kinds of dog breeds, both large and small. We offer a fun-filled, QUALITY dog walking service '" rain or shine. As a genuine dog lover, I'll treat your precious dog with as much care and attention as any member of the family. As a lifetime Overland Park, KS resident (and daily walker of my 12-year old Hungarian Puli), you can count on me to take care of your best friend as my own. I will come to your home and walk your dog in your very own neighborhood, a familiar and safe surrounding for your dog. Regular exercise helps keep your dog free of destructive or annoying behaviors '" such as digging, chewing or barking '" which is often a result of boredom. So get your dog busy, and they will thank you with love and good health. For complete details, check out http://walkfordogs.com.

The Company, a fully-bonded European tour operator and Anglo-French family-run business, is run by various members of an extended family on both sides of the English Channel/La Manche '" a veritable entente commercial and familial. So hiking, and organising hiking tours in France for our enlightened customers, is our life. We are French qualified hikers and our family network in France dates back to the 1930s. We are an environmentally-friendly company, and are pro-active in this respect '" ex., no glossy brochure! I have experience of various types of work to give me a fuller understanding and insight in to different areas of interest to the public. I have experience in retail and research sectors. I have done much work in care including care of the elderly, mostly with those who have varying forms and degrees of dementia. I have also worked as a teaching assistant in both mainstream and special needs schools. Suffering with epilepsy myself I have knowledge and insights into this area, along with many other health concerns people may wish to know more about including various areas of mental health. Being a parent and having helped other parents with their children I can offer sound advice and ideas for parents who are concerned or just want ideas on communication, discipline and other areas of parenting. I have always enjoyed walking, camping and reading as I find so much time in these areas for personal reflection and growth along with quality time with family and friends. I am also an openly gay woman and have experience of the challenges and benefits to this lifestyle along with it's affects both inside and outside the workplace and it's importance as a parent. Coming from a large, religious family and seeing the effects of poverty and abuse, has eqipped me with tools for life and helped me view the world from various angles. I have seen the good and bad in people and the genuine desire in myself and others to make a difference for the future.
