I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Coming from a long line of tournament anglers, I naturally took to fishing at a young age and have been at home in the outdoors my entire life. I swam on a club swim team from age eight up until high school but was pretty burned out by my freshman year of high school so I switched to water polo. I competed in the junior olympics for water polo in 2004 and eventually played in college for the University of Houston. After graduating high school in 2005, I enlisted as active duty in the United States Marine Corps and served for four years as a combat instructor of water survival (MCIWS). After an honorable discharge I enrolled at the University of Houston to study business. I am currently remodeling homes and writing to support my beautiful fiance and four year old son while I finish school.
