I was born, raised, and continue to live in a small farming community East of Kansas City,MO. I remain working at a company that I have been with for the past 22 years; serving in numerous capacities. For the past ten years I have been living the dream of middle-management. I am married to a wonderful pocket-sized woman, whom for reasons still unknown to me, still puts up with "all that is me". Writing has always been a hobby of mine, and quite frankly, was the most enjoyable aspect of college. Most people dreaded writing papers in school, but I always relished it and saw it as an opportunity to show off a bit. In addition to writing, I also enjoy art, woodworking, History, Military History, politics, outdoor activities, classic film, music, and guitar.

When we talk about woodworking, there are many options at hand. Though it's typically a hobby, many take it as a profession too. Additionally, with the economic crunch, many opt for DIY stuff than hiring professionals to save money.

I am a young woman with a passion for words who is constantly in search of the transcendental truth. I think that society funnels most people into a functional package that fits the mold, and that few people ever dare to think against that grain. I enjoy reading, writing, watching films, woodworking, photography, construction, and running... and the occasional unexpected nap with my ornery grey kitty and my sparky husky pup.

  • Kim Blakesley
The passions in my life include education, the arts, home remodeling, woodworking and travel. Due to my eclectic plethora of interests, writing and photography have become two extraordinary outlets of expression. I have found extreme pleasure in both. Remodeling, refurbishing, repurposing and upcycling have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father built our home when I was small along with owning a fiberglass fabrication business. I naturally learned how to use woodworking tools at a very young age. Artistically, I have worked with my hands since I was a toddler. My college education afforded me to expand my interest in accounting and art. My two passions merged in the educational field where I chose to become a teacher. Currently I am a freelance writing and photographer after working in the public school system as both a teacher and a principal. Artistically, I enjoy graphic design, photo manipulation, website creation, photography, sculpture and ceramics. I have my own studio and spend as much time creating as I do writing. My writing experience is extensive in the field of education, art and craft how to's, graphic design, photography, wine making, sculpture, fiberglass and travel.
