I grew up in Woodslee, Ontario where I played travel hockey as a goalie until the end of high school. Now I m trying to get my degree in architecture.

Lisa received her Master of Architecture from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006 and went to work for one of the leading architectural firms in the country. She worked hard to take a leadership role in sustainability in the architecture firm. In spring 2008, she took her architectural and sustainability background and became a full-time sustainability consultant for idX Corporation. She also spent 1.5 years working with a major Midwest healthcare system to help them develop their sustainability and evidence based design initiatives. As CEO of EcoScapes Sustainaiblity Solutions, LLC, she works closely with clients in sustainability goal setting and implementation; providing everyone a means to become more sustainable themselves. Lisa is also an experienced horse trainer and riding instructor. She is the creator of Holistic Horsemanship, LLC. She works with horses who are facing everything from standard muscle imbalance as a result of non-use and arthritis/sciatica, to broken legs and long term damage from abuse. She works with horses who have the utmost trust in humans and horses who are scared of or even violent towards humans. Lisa is a trainer who can bring out the best in each horse, regardless of the horse s experience or past. The end result is usually a mentally well-adjusted, contented, and physically well-developed horse. She then translates her horse training experience into the riding students world; whether they are beginning or advanced students. She focuses on relationship building and teaching balanced, centered riding.

Arq. Gabriela Cornelio is a native of Merida Yucatan, co-founder and owner of CasaYucatanRealEstate. Gabriela holds degrees in architecture and international commerce from UADY University in Merida, and full range of residential design and construction projects to her credit. Her experience in architecture and real estate coupled with her knowledge of Merida and Yucatan, allows her to provide clients with expertise that is beyond the norm.

I grew up mainly in the suburbs of Atlanta and have lived all around the south. I attended college and received my Masters of Architecture of which I have been practicing ever since. I have lived in Hawaii for the better part of a decade and have returned to the mainland to expand my areas of interest, one being a contributing writer.

My childhood was split between being born and younger years on a Army base in the Midwest that the gov't "shut down" in the 60's and being a teen in rural California in the 60's. This tells you what age range I'm batting from. My education has been rather broad. I have degrees in psychology, art, art therapy and architecture. It's tempting to return to school again to study medicine or some other keen interest of mine. I'm opting to study and learn in the classroom of life. I am a parent to two children, one being a daughter that is a new Suma Cume Laude graduate. Currently I'm raising my teen son to be goal oriented and college bound without holding my hand throughout his future. He vacillates between pushing me away in order to be independent and asking me to hold his hand while visiting dentist, doctor's offices and other anxiety producing locations. I am also a foster parent to two small children as they deal with the realities of their mother's drug addiction. It's been a challenge to help them process their feelings about their situation and find ways to appropriately express it. They are learning more effective ways to relate to others now. Other concerns for me are the environment, our natural resources, constant wars in the world, and the constant conflicts between apparent leaders in the world. Those I would chose to lead would not accept the post out of wanting to remain sane. I have worked as a professional most of my life until recently having worked in hospitals in mental health, in architecture firms, in state government and doing independent design work. Traveling has been limited while raising children. However, I joined my daughter in Europe for 3 weeks of traveling throughout Italy and France. "Travels with my Daughter" is one piece I'm planning to write. It was an amazing trip on so many levels that brought us closer and made me want to plan do it all again. Anthony Emrick practiced as a architect for over ten years. He received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. One of his specialties is historic preservation. He is, also, knowledgeable in urban planning. He was recently listed in Who s Who Among Executives and Professionals and has had original drawings featured in several publications. The research and writing techniques that he learned in academia carried through as valuable tools in professional practice. He has studied many topics while practicing architecture. Aside from architecture, Anthony is also well learned in photography, fitness and nutrition, and spiritual issues. He has pursued photography as a hobby for over twenty-five years. He has studied the Bible independently for over ten years. He implements fitness and nutrition knowledge daily in his personal life. He has studied sustainability for over five years and implements green practices in his everyday life, as well. He has dedicated his life to multiple pursuits which round out his knowledge base very well. He is not afraid of being unconventional when following convention impedes growth and understanding. It is important to question what you believe as long as you do so in a responsible manner.

Dave Salois was born in Montana, educated in Oklahoma, and now lives in Idaho with his wife and daughter. Although his formal eduction is in architecture, he has worked primarily as a residential designer, building inspector, and commercial project manager and estimator for most of his career. He has written numerous articles on owner built custom home design and construction, politics, alternative energy, natural health, religion, and is currently working on his first novel. He has developed numerous Internet businesses and websites and participated in copywriting and various marketing ventures for over a decade. His near term goal is to move to northern Arizona and write several novels and build a unique custom log home in the mountains.

Teresa B. Cross is a professional architect based in Southern California. She holds a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Virgina and a Master of Studies in Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment from the University of Cambridge.

Hey all! I am a recent graduate from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Environmental Design and a minor in Architecture. I have a thirst for everything creative, and never seem to satiate! I have particular interests in music composition, graphic and web design, the built environment, sustainable practices, and cooking. Melissa is an unemployed graduate of architecture with specialized knowledge of sustainable design, and years of experience in graphic design. She relocated to Rhode Island after graduating and fell in love with the state and the people there. She loves being active outdoors and utilizing the creative part of her mind.

I originally went to the University of Southern California to be a screenwriter in 1983, but always had a passion for architecture. After summers helping a contractor build a storybook home in Carmel and a cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, I began architecture school at Texas Tech University. Upon graduation, I made a roundabout path through California, Seattle and now in Idaho, designing arts and crafts style homes, waterfront beach cottages, rustic luxury ski lodges, lodge style office buildings, churches, and restaurants. I have been in the architecture field since 1987 beginning as a summer intern. I own a small architecture firm in Sandpoint, Idaho. I have designed homes throughout North America, and have been featured in several recent publications, including Mountain Living as one of their Top 100 Architects, Cowboys & Indians Magazine and Cabin Life Magazines. I live with my wife and three children in Sagle, Idaho.

Most of Alissa's childhood was spent frolicking under high-voltage power lines in a suburban subdivision of Rochester, New York. Ironically, the procession of behemoth towers flanking the neighborhood formed a greenbelt, linking her backyard to a majestic expanse of woodlands that cradled a meandering stretch of the Irondequoit Creek. There, serenaded by the melodic hum of 110 kilovolts of electricity, Alissa began her lifelong love affair with the natural world. As an Intern Architect she has fused her zest for nature with a passion for design, striving to create healthy and sustainable built environments. Alissa received a BS in Biotechnology focusing in Environmental Studies from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts and a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado in Denver, where she recently became a LEED Accredited Professional. When she isn't attempting to save the world, Alissa enjoys thrashing it on a snowboard with her husband, Mitch.

Raffy Chan (Rafael Genove Chan) is an architect, consultant, entrepreneur, writer and internet marketing enthusiast; based in California. He has a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Masteral degree in Environmental and Habitat Planning. He has a total of over thirty years of active-professional practice as an architect, with over three-quarters of that with his firm R.G.Chan & Associates (RGC&A); specializing in commercial and institutional projects. For the past twelve years he has also been actively involved in real estate investment, primarily focused on subdivision development and construction. This has been with his corporate partners at Calgryp Philippines Inc. and Realeza Development Corporation. Raffy is a Fellow of the United Architects of the Philippines (FUAP), the local-country sector organization of the International Union of Architects (UIA)-- recognized for his notable contributions to the advancement of the architectural profession and for outstanding achievements in the field of DESIGN (given in April 1993). He also has the honor of being an Outstanding Citizen of Baguio City (Professional Category- 2004), given in testimony of his dedication to public service and the greater number of Baguio's citizenry. Currently enjoying a private sojourn in Los Angeles, he now devotes most of his time to writing and enjoying the finer things in life. Internationally experienced, award-winning architect Thomas Doerr specializes in sustainable design, including passive solar and net-zero energy homes. Thomas earned a professional degree in architecture from The University of Texas at Austin, studied art in Rome, Italy and the earned a master of architecture degree from The University of California at Berkeley. He has also taught architecture at The University of Colorado and is a frequent speaker at green building conferences. Thomas lives in Boulder, Colorado with his partner and beautiful daughters.
