  • Ansuya Rathor
Ansuya is a second generation, internationally recognized and awarded superstar of Bellydance with thousands of students across the globe. Ansuya gave her first performance at the age of four under the tutilage of her mother, renowned Bellydancer, Jenaeni Rathor. She then spent her childhood and teen years steeping in the melting pots of the Ojai and nearby Santa Barbara dance and art communities. At age 18 she was discovered by drummer Souhail Kaspar who saw her in a production directed by acclaimed Bellydancer Alexandra King. Souhail hired Ansuya to perform in the top Hollywood night club, Al Amir, launching Ansuya s next decade performing at hot spots including Byblos, Chasens, Spagos, The House of Blues, and The Roxy. She also performed for countless celebrities and choreographed for the CBS daytime drama The Young and the Restless. Broadening her skills, Ansuya became an actress, earning her SAG-AFTRA membership and winning roles in the daytime drama Days of Our Lives and the prime-time drama Judging Amy. She was then discovered by record producer Miles Copeland who made her the face of Cabaret Bellydance in the Bellydance Superstars Show which toured the world several times. Gathering press and students from around the globe, Ansuya launched her very own Online Bellydance Class website so that her students worldwide could have access to her Bellydance classes and shows on a daily basis. Ansuya s approach to Bellydance is centered in female empowerment, sensual expression, and spiritual development. Her style is fusion including Cabaret, Egyptian, Tribal, Indian, African, Spanish, Gypsy, Hip Hop, and Burlesque techniques. She dances with swords, candles, fans, wings, veils, and finger cymbals.
