BIRDWATCHING

After working as a park naturalist for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Jenni Gaines is now exploring her love of science and nature through podcasting the series Succinct Science, found here, and writing for Associated Content on topics of environment, science, and outdoors recreation. She enjoys observing nature and sharing it with others, and likes to go birdwatching, hiking, and camping.

I am retired after having had a varied and eclectic career, which includes being a professional baker, banker, real estate agent, Weight Watcher Lecturer. My favorite endeavor would be my time volunteering and then, working with the USO. I currently live near the beach and have discovered the joys of birdwatching.

I have been a pharmacy technician for 30 years. I've studied cryptozoology, Northwest and Native American culture, & birdwatching. I am a past President of the Washington State Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation.

The midest is my home. At this time of year, I enjoy watching the changing of the seasons, along with the coming and going of the birds. Birdwatching is my passion. I am a bird nerd. Duck and pheasant hunting are also hobbies of mine. I believe: to each his or her own, live and let live.

Raised by loving parents who provided many creative outlets. Enjoyed school until the middle years when rote memorization and industrial learning dominated. Attended alternative college '" William James, named for America's premiere free thinker '" with no grades, small classes, and coursework designed by class direction. Was taught to learn by research, contemplation, writing and copious revision. Woods Rat, Boy Scout, Hippie. Worked many factory jobs and a variety of educational settings outside area of college training. Expanded personal interests through practical application: gardening and birdwatching, remodeling an old home and restoring conservation on a maligned property. 20 years working computers with students in a vocational setting. Laid off, semi-retired, working now in the US mid-west largest big-box home project outlet as stocker and sales candidate. 50 years of writing and taking photographs.

Last year, I lost my job as "caregiver to the elderly". After 15 years, I was ready for a change anyway. That's why Creative Gift Ideas - Gifts for Every Occasion. My husband and I live in the North Georgia Mountains. I love nature, gardening, birdwatching, reading, sewing, and craft-making.

Art and the outdoors are two of my passions. I enjoy birdwatching, volunteering, and making things. Besides writing and art, I do biological field work involving birds.
