BLUEGRASS

Married, 4 kids that still live at home. Grew up around Cincinnati, OH, and moved to the country. Worked in a lab for 10 years before I recently got laid off. I have umpired baseball for the past 18 years and am also a bluegrass musician and a minister.

I am an English student from Southern Illinois University. My interests, of course, include literature, the outdoors, politics, bluegrass, sports and history. In my free time, I play and listen to bluegrass music, and I am an avid Chicago sports fan.

Brenda Gail Caudill is a McDonalds Shift Manager, creative writer, freelance writer, and college student studying Journalism at Bluegrass Community and Technical College with plans to transfer to the University of Kentucky.

I'm musically obsessed. I love the energy, the pulse, the never-ending cycle of the Colorado music scene. I spend my money on tickets and my nights in the bars. If someone told me I couldn't do it anymore, I wouldn't have a direction for my life. I have had MANY amazing musical experiences in my life. I have attended Jam Cruise, a Cloud Nine musical adventure in the Carribean three times. I am attending my 7th Telluride Bluegrass Festival this summer. I have been on Dead tour in the Southeast and yonder Mountain String Band tour on the West Coast. I have been to Horning's Hideout in Oregon. In one summer, I visited Red Rocks 16 times. I love it. All of it. And I can't stop exploring it. In recent years, I have spent much of my time listening to Bluegrass music, but I expand my horizons to The Talking Heads, Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin and a variety of other jam bands. I have spent the years booking, promoting and writing about music on the side. I'm done with it being a side dish. I want to expand it to the "entrée" portion of the plate.

I'm an electrical engineer and freelance Christian writer. I'm married and we have a son at Colorado State University. My interests include gardening, bluegrass music (play the banjo and guitar), and singing in our Church Choir. I attend (and am heavily involved in) a small rural church in Southeast Georgia

Most people think that I am a student that enjoys fly fishing, but they are wrong. I am actually a fly fisherman who by necessity goes to school. I graduated last spring with a degree in Accounting, and I am currently in graduate school working on my masters in accounting. In addition to fly fishing and school, I also enjoy studying theology, playing bluegrass guitar, and spending as much time outside as possible.

I am an archivist, webmaster, and reference librarian. I have a degree in theatre performance and dance and have been a part of a bluegrass band for many years. In my spare time, I write indexes and provide research assistance, and help my partner with his photography projects.

I am a freelance writer and life-long resident of historic Harrodsburg, Kentucky. I write a monthly essay column for "Mercer's Magazine," a bi-weekly book review column for "The Harrodsburg Herald," and a tri-weekly blog post for "Bluegrass Moms." I am also the "Lexington Gardening Examiner" and "Kentucky Authors Examiner" for Examiner.com. I currently have work in two anthologies, "The Women of Mercer County" and "Speaking Out Volume 2." E.H. Fleming holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin Pierce College in Anthropology and continues to work in the field of Archaeology, while his writing and research interests run the gambit of ethnomusicology, philosophy, history, medieval living and playing of the banjo. Yes, that's right: The Five String Banjo. Fleming is a native Rhode Islander who also enjoys performing bluegrass music, living history, steampunk culture and most importantly: writing for your enjoyment.

Jill Russell is an information professional residing in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. She has a B.A. in History with an emphasis on United States history and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Library and Information Science. Her work has been published online by the University of Kentucky. In her youth she spent four years training and showing her dog in Junior Handler Agility. She is also a classically trained flautist. She grew up on a farm in central Kentucky. She enjoys music, yoga, backpacking, and being outdoors. On rainy days, she's often reading, writing, or watching LOST.

Ivan Wolfe is originally from Homer, Alaska and has a PhD in English from the University of Texas at Austin. He has taught writing, toured Europe with a Bluegrass band, and published various articles on science fiction and fantasy.
