The Brand MasonI grew up on the East Coast and do have street smarts, but I fortunately have a lot more self control than Tony Soprano. I'm not a fan of bureaucracy, committees or groupthink. Teams that succeed elicit outstanding contributions from all members and are led by an individual capable of making decisions and executing plans. I solve my clients' problems with direct, incisive analysis, out-of-the-box thinking, and skepticism of so-called "conventional wisdom" and time-consuming, bureaucratically-based approaches. My interests include literature, poetry, history, psychology, philosophy, religion, music, cosmology, mathematics, medicine, law, economics, sports, orthography (a fancy word that essentially means "spelling"), financial instruments such as futures and options, marketing, biotechnology & genetics, negotiation, software, branding, nutrition and various and sundry other subjects worthy of rumination, cogitation, expostulation and contemplation. I've also taught university-level courses in computer science, financial mathematics, C programming, and English grammar.
Louis TanguayLouis Tanguay started writing short stories at the age of 6. By the time he was 13, he had written over two dozen short stories, and one novel. None of them were actually submitted for publishing, but this love of writing extended into high school, where he was the music writer for his high school newspaper. After college, Louis worked as Music Editor for the regional arts magazine 247 Artzine in New England. Demand for more content increased, and Louis started up the music magazine Section 3, and ran that publication from 1995 to 2000, increasing ad revenue, subscriptions, and online hits every single year. Louis moved to Los Angeles and worked in the Marketing Department of two major film studios at a Director level, before co-producing a project for film director Brett Ratner. In 2010, Louis started his own Marketing and Branding agency, Circle Marketing, which is focused on growing brands and businesses using modern forms of marketing such as SEO'ed Websites, Mobile Applications, and Social Media Marketing. Recently, Circle Marketing and Louis Tanguay teamed up with two other parties to create the Sports Blog and Opinion site www.TheSportsDay.com and are currently growing that business as well (and looking for more contributers).

Mike BurkeForward Mike's evolution of becoming an expert in an area most professionals are unaware of: commercial sign design Introduction Early on, Mike aspired to become an architect. Although his initial dream did not pan out, being highly visually oriented, Mike learned graphic design, a lateral extension to architecture. Eventually the graphic design industry moved into computers. Mike quickly learned all the important computer applications associated with graphic design. In the early 2000s, Mike entered the commercial contractor sign industry, which includes design, manufacturing, and installation of every type of (interior and exterior) business sign in the world, e.g., Target, Starbucks, Macy's, AMC Theaters, Trader Joes, etc. Learning sign design increased Mike's understanding of one second advertising (related to design), but more importantly, increased his understanding of branding. Most graphic designers, and even sign designers do not fully understand branding. Being an dedicated entrepreneur, learning, and understanding branding was a natural extension to designing electrical signage. In the 10 years in the sign business, Mike could not find one book on the subject of electrical sign design. Mike also discovered there was no formal school for sign design. As a result, Mike wrote the first book on the subject of HOW-TO design electrical signs. The book, "Inside Sign Design" is 19 chapters and is the first book of its kind.
