I was born in Como, MS in the early sixties. My mother home-schooled me very early and instilled in me a love for the printed and spoken word. She would recite rhymes to me and I always wanted to write songs after I thought Berry Gordy and the producers at MOTOWN created the Jackson 5 especially for me and my sister who was a year older than I.I have submitted my work to several companies in hopes of landing an ad campaign. I recently submitted a jingle to a large conglomerate but I haven't given up on my dreams of being a writer even though MOTOWN and Def-Jam never called(smile).I hope this venue is where I can have my worked showcased because I have a catalog of songs, poems, and screenplays that I believe could brightens some one's day.

Dr. Howard Wachtel has many years of experience as a mathematics educator and professor at various colleges and universities. He gains much satisfaction by fostering success in his students and persuading them to believe that math is not just something that one does in a classroom, but is part of our everyday lives. He has much writing experience, including research articles on mathematics education, and an article on politics. He is a chess master and a life master at contract bridge.
