  • RamblinRose
Native Texan; city born, country raised. I am a lifetime resident of the Coastal Bend region of the Lone Star state. My feet have walked the paths of the brave men and women of the war for the Republic. I feel special to have been born in Houston and I love my life in the great state of Texas. I have cooked for the Governor of Texas, as well as the Texas Legislature. I have taken food and clothing to the poorest of the poor in nearby Mexico. My life is a balance of helping others and recieving blessings. I have traveled across the USA & Central America; met people from all walks of life. These are the riches that money cannot buy: being in the desert during a snowstorm, stealing a kiss from a honeybee while sitting in a field of bluebonnets in springtime, riding in a donkey cart in Nuevo Laredo while shopping and sipping on the freshest of strawberry margaritas, hiking in the remotest of part of the Frio river and marvelling in the wagon tracks of settlers seeking a better life for thier families, tracing ancient native American pictographs with my fingers, swimming in a pool of springwater while a cyclone of monarch butterflies encircled my head, sharing nature's enchantment with others, watching the moon rise over the Gulf of Mexico, watching a new foal find her footing on Mother Earth, hearing the first cry of my newborn children and grandchildren. My life is rich, in Texas!

I'm a guy that likes to clown around and talk plenty of smack. I enjoy my sports, politics and psychology most of all. Get to know me and you'll probably find me crude and argumentative, get to know me a bit more and you'll find that this is just a cover for a very gentle soul that farts roses and pukes butterflies.

  • Donna Cator
I am a two-time Who's Who of American Women who loves to write and research and enjoys lifelong learning. This is demonstrated in my works, such as my genealogy site regarding the Cators, Southworths, etc. It has helped my grandkids with homework and projects. I have been their editor at times! I live on the Space Coast of Florida, which is new and I am often fascinated with finding new sights here, after having lived in the mountains for many years in NC. On the lighter side, my family is my all, chocolate is my addiction, butterflies and moths like to rest on my finger, and I have been attacked by a praying mantis but never by a dragonfly.. Undaunted, I roam the paths near alligators, wild boar, and birds, know some folks who work at the the local grocery store and share pet stories with them, and cry over animal movies. I do love kind readers. Every writer needs a reader. Thank you for being one.
  • The Option Guru
I have been an active trader now for over 10 years. My original interest was spurred by the beginning of the dot com bubble in 1997 and the growth of on-line trading. At first I dabbled in stocks of internet companies, and quite frankly made a lot of money. I mean, you couldn't go wrong back in those days. I was young then (well, right now 49 sounds pretty young) and I could put more money at risk. I retired early (1999) and went on the road as an IT consultant and also did pretty well from an income perspective. I was able to slip in a few trades during the day, but I did most of my research and trade selections at night. I have always been what is called a swing trader (trade the peaks and valleys) and never a buy and hold investor - I just don't have the patience. Around 2003 I started to research options. I did a bunch of paper trades and then jumped into live trades later that year - just buying Calls and Puts. My favorites were Apple, RIMM, Google, etc. For the most part I was successful, but I was also very nervous if I could not monitor these trades during the day. I was trading slightly OTM options with 4-8 month expirations. During that period I was also trading some option spread strategies, such as Straddles and Iron Condors, but I really didn't know what I was doing and certainly didn't know how to adjust a loosing trade. I had one Iron Condor that went against me and I couldn't sleep for 2 nights! At the start of 2006 I was laid off. While I was actively looking for work, I also had a lot of time to spend looking at other trading strategies. I signed up for a Forex trading course that cost a lot of money and tried that for a while. Talk about high pressure! While I didn't lose much, I couldn't stand to see trades go from +$400 to -$400 in seconds. I tried other option strategies - Iron Condors, Calendar Spreads, Straddles, Butterflies, etc., but the one strategy that I consistently made money on was Covered Calls. During the first few mo

  • Trena Gologan
Everyone is an explorer. How could you possibly live your life looking at a door and not open it? - Robert D. Ballard. Trena J Gologan has taken on the motto from Jackie Robinson , "A life is not as important, except in the impact it has on other lives." She feels that "now is really that opportunity to show others the impact they can have on someone else." Trena Gologan has been involved in public speaking, and personal coaching for the past 12 years. She has traveled the US and internationally and has networked with all diverse cultures. She has taught college courses and communicated with college students nationwide on professionalism and self esteem. Gologan's diversity creates uniqueness and lends an empathic ear. Mrs Gologan is a published author and has participated in various events including Youth Leadership Conferences, participated in many walks to raise money and awareness in the Atlanta area and received a declaration from Governor of Georgia for National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. Trena believes that "every day is a learning experience. The moment you stop learning is the moment you stop living." (Trena J Gologan) Her butterfly paintings are an inspiration for her daily life challenges with fibromyalgia. She knows that her wings will lift her up and help others know the beauty that they have even when they don't feel like getting out of bed. She wants other's to know "that there is life even with the pain, take advantage of those days and be thankful that you can fly and show other's the beauty you possess." More of her butterflies can be found at www.cafepress.com/trenagologan

  • Monay
I finally figured out after all these years what my true calling and passion in life is-writing! I love to write and express myself with the written word! Sharing my knowledge of things that I either researched or exprienced first hand, and helping others with areas of their lives that I may have had some trouble with myself. I'm on a journey of spiritual growth, renewal, and transformation. I never stop learning and evolving. I realized that butterflies resemble growth and I find myself to be much like a butterfly. I've come so far from where I've been and I'm thankful, grateful, and deeply blessed. I hope the topics that I write about can help, motivate, inspire, and empower others to being better and living the life that they always wanted!
