Currently, I am currently attending collge. I have three children wo are all teenagers. My passion is writing, and castles.

I am a Navy wife living in Downtown San Diego, CA. I live a pretty dull life compared to others but I really enjoy writing and reading. I was born and raised in Phoenix,AZ. I met my High School sweetheart; Brian, at an interesting place called castles n coasters. I accidentally kicked him in the head and it was love at first sight. We have been married now for 3 years and together for 5 years. We are still very happily married even though we ve had our share of fights. No children yet but I was a nanny and Love children just not quite ready to take that leap yet. I work in a hotel which never proves to be anything but interesting. I love the idea of writing a blog and giving my opinion about everything because I tend to have a lot of opinions! I am very loyal and very emotional. I believe in God but am not necessarily religious. I have a loud voice both on paper and out loud. I laugh loudly and I love to smile. I have a mixed family with full blooded brothers, step brothers and an adopted brother. I am the only girl in my family, and that is the way I like it. My mom and Aunt Sheila are my heroes. I do everything I do to make them proud. I love so fully and completely that people sometimes say I have a heart that is too big. I am what they call a bleeding heart since I am very empathetic. I am an aspiring writer. I am in love with the written word. I write and read as much as I can. I am married to a great man, named William. We live St. Louis with our dog. I am obessed with castles, Justin Timberlake, and Reality TV.

I'd like to believe that I am a natural born writer. Ever since I can remember, I have been writing or telling stories. Growing up, I would keep a diary in which I would share all my secrets. I must have been incredibly innocent because it never occurred to me that my brothers were probably reading it whenever I wasn't around. I still have that book to this day. What a joy it is to look back to those thoughts and feelings that I used to share. Today, I have a wonderful husband and two teenage daughters. When my girls were young, I would tell them stories where they were the central characters in plots that included mischievous boys, dragons and castles. I also have a love for music and surround myself with it as often as I can. Both of my daughters have this love too. They are amazing drummers and their momma couldn't be more proud. My husband has always tried to encourage me to write, so this brings me to where I am today. I hope that you will follow me where ever this path may lead.

A humorous straight talker, Melanie offers her opinions in an enthusiastic no-nonsense manner. The proverbial "Jane" of many trades, this former design student admits to having a plethora of eclectic knowledge filed away in her experiences. "I like learning things, she says earnestly, If I come across a topic I don't know about, I can spend weeks researching it. I might never need the information, but I still "need" to know." A brave adventurer, the Ohio native has traveled the United States extensively, even living in a small town in Alaska for several years. "I loved living in Alaska, Melanie enthuses, It was like stepping back in time 50 years, but I got to have my cell phone and internet!" When asked about her future travel plans she simply smiles and replies, "There really is no place I wouldn't like to see, but I do have a top five list. I am currently saving for a tour of castles in Scotland. Future travel plans might have to wait for a while though, this energetic 40 something was recently diagnosed with an auto-immune illness that has forced her switch gears to focus on her diet and health for a time. "It's a very scary thing, to suddenly realize your own mortality but, it's also a very defining moment, it helps you get your priorities in order" When asked why she decided to pursue blogging as a means of income she replied without hesitation, "I adore words, and writing. I love to travel and would hate being stuck in one place. Writing and sharing my ideas with others, and getting paid for it, would be a perfect way to supplement my income, allow me to travel, and give me an outlet for my need to research and learn new things!"

My work is on the borderline between art and design; informed by my interests in architectural history, production design for theatre and film and the work of Inigo Jones. I have been doing a lot of sports during my growth, starting with soccer, ice-hockey moving on to baseball, mountain-bike, snowboarding and now recently been addicted to more individual-training, and to help others as well. My philosophy is that our bodies are our castles, and we should always make sure we do the best in order to be able to live the lives we want, not just today, but for a long time ahead.

I majored in English and wrote a thesis on Shakespeare. Somehow that led to guiding dog sledding, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting. I enjoy writing and have been doing it for years as a hobbie. I reside in Louisville, KY and am currently dealing with my own series of unfortunate events. My biggest hero and influence is my father, who fought for his life against all odds for years until his heart wouldn't allow him to fight anymore (RIP 12/23/1943 - 04/20/2010). My world revolves around my family especially my dogs, nieces, nephews and great nephew. I'm known for being a quiet, laid back, go with the flow kind of person unless it's something that I'm passionate about, which in that case, I can't seem to shut up. I'm not a fighter but I will always fight for what I believe in and feel in my heart is right. I always expect the worst but yet hope for the best in every thing that life throws at me. I'm overly nurturing and will help anybody and anything that I can if I have the means to do so without a second thought or moment of hesitation. I over analyze, over worry and over stress about everything, I've always been that way ever since I was a kid.
