Crystal FugateHowdy! 2000 char for my bio? Yikes, hope to keep this short! An only child native from the Appalachian hills of KY, I’ve endured poverty, depression, loneliness with a family of addicts. My faith in God and my spirituality continues to help me carry on. I graduated from Morehead State University in 1991 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Business then moved to Houston, TX. I currently work in the space industry with the ISS Program. After losing my dad to cancer in 2008, I wrote my first book, “I Found Me”. Recalling some childhood memories was painful but I feel empowered to help others deal with similar issues. Currently I am obtaining another Associate’s degree in Psychology/Sociology and hope to someday earn my Bachelor’s. I believe in supporting my Appalachian community and others with issues in depression, codependency, and addiction. We all make a difference and can inspire each other! Losing my dad made me realize the importance of family and the little time we have together. Cherish every moment. I hope that God may bless me with a family of my own one day. Until then, I hope to accomplish what God places on the To Do list of my heart. All things happen for reason and in His good timing. May you be blessed and be a blessing to others with my writings!

Saskia MeadowsI am a Mum to two kids in their twenties. Until 6 years ago I led a very sheltered and cosy life with my husband and kids. I had been a very happy wife and mother. Then my husband died suddenly and my world turned upside down. All the safety and security I d known vanished overnight. Not long before my husband died, with the kids growing up I remember saying to him Who is Saskia? I don t know where she went to in the last 20 years. The last six years have been a journey to discover the answer to that question. From being a single parent to my children and us all trying to help one another through the grieving process, online dating sites, doing voluntary work at home and abroad, taking up yoga, looking into spirituality and learning all I could about personal growth, going to counselling, learning all I could about different personalities, a difficult relationship that taught me to understand how powerful control and manipulation can be and finally finding the courage to walk away. From times of feeling totally helpless and lost through all different stages of sadness, desperate loneliness, vulnerability and wondering if I could ever learn to be happy alone to becoming stronger and learning to trust myself again. The many friends old and new who helped me along the way and all their stories that made me realise life is never perfect for anyone and we all struggle at times to find the life we want to lead. I never realiised quite how scary, difficult but also funny and ultimately so rewarding that journey to finding myself would be. Six years on - I can face the world with new eyes and look forward to all the experiences, good and bad and all the lessons it will bring. I m beginning to be the me I always wanted to be and can t wait for the next chapter.
