Dave WeaverFollow me on Twitter @daveweaver1 and I will do the same for you. Dave Weaver was born in Pennsylvania and lived in Philadelphia or the suburbs there until age 40. Managing and marketing student housing communities the last 7 years has taken him to New York, Kentucky, Alabama, Kansas, and Arkansas. All the moving has allowed Dave to experience America from many different perspectives. Attitudes and people in the Deep South, or the Midwest, are quite different than the North. For a frequent political writer and election junkie , the insights gained from this exposure are invaluable. Dave does not, however, limit himself to politics, preferring to continually expand his scope of work, always looking for the next challenge. In addition to political commentary, Dave has written works ranging from book and movie reviews, to relationship advice, to poetry, to Western fiction. By reading, and writing in as many genres as possible, Dave has been able to keep writing and earning. His works have been published on Yahoo! Voices, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Sports, Yahoo! News, and the online newspaper paper.li.com.
Angel WhitmanI may be new to publishing, but I'm certainly an old hand at opinionated commentary, regardless of subject matter. My ever spinning, curious little Gemini brain is constantly jumping from one subject, issue or project to the next. While I certainly love passionate debate, I won't just sit and rattle in one's ear for an entire day, not my style. I like to sit alone and research whatever my topic du jour may be, then I'll come at you with a quick jab/punch, hit and run. Then, poof!, like a ninja I leave you wondering where I'll strike next! I am currently employed full-time as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Memphis Fire Department and I am proud member of the Memphis Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 1784. To summarize, my job gives me an overflow of subject matter for debate 24 hours a day, which just happens to equal one shift day. And I assure you, the politicians in Memphis city government could give New Orleans' best a real run for their money, or ours rather. I am also co-host and creator of The Rick Ray Show with KMart and Angel, sports talk radio on AM 730 Vernoradio, Memphis, TN. We air weekly on Tuesdays from 7:00 pm-9:00pm. You can listen live by going to therickrayshow.com and clicking the ListenLive link or click on Archives to check out all our previous shows. Prior to the fire department and EMS, I worked in the gaming industry for 10+ years as a craps dealer and table games floor supervisor. By far my favorite employer being Jack Binion's Horseshoe Casino Tunica, MS, which was also my longest tenured. Doesn't matter if you're talking public services or corporate America, they all need to learn the Jack Binion recipe for success. Best employer for which I've ever worked, and I'm only one of thousands that would agree. He knew how to foster loyalty in his employees and he rewarded for it generously. Ok, so that's me in too many and not enough words. Hope I can give you a reason to come back for another "hit and run".
Karen DearKaren is a mom with a story to tell. She is passionate about gluten free cooking, writing prose and stories, singing opera and presenting social commentary. Her ambitions of being a journalist/anchor with her communications degree as a young college graduate came to a screeching halt due to some debilitating life circumstances from severe undiagnosed wheat sensitivity to post traumatic stress disorder. Now 44 and recovered she has direction. She is thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to write for Yahoo to enjoy the freedom and outlet of expression. With a little girl in tow and a husband of ten years she has achieved a role with North Carolina Theatre and sung with chorus of North Carolina Opera. She has sung in many churches from the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California to her United Methodist Church at home and has been in pursuit of a professional career for the past two years. She has degrees in both communication & music. She is a survivor that has much to share about her recovery and how she has achieved peace, joy & living life in abundance. From that experience she has a unique perspective on life and looks forward to writing for Yahoo and meeting others with unique perspectives.
Cj WoodringI'm a native Hoosier whose dual career includes more than 20 years as creative, nonfiction writer/journalist (more than 10 years as line editor), and 15 years in the social services sector. As a Central Florida resident, I served as both staff and freelance editor, writer and photographer, producing a weekly social commentary column that ran nearly 10 years. Since returning to Indiana in 2003, I've been a home-based freelance writer and editor. To date, I have more than 2,000 printed articles to my credit. In addition to news, in-depth investigative, and lifestyle features, I've produced promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters, and advertorials. A detail-oriented perfectionist, I excel as interviewer, researcher, fact checker, and proofreader.

I also do job search consulting, including resume advice and editing. I ve played organized sports my entire life, and I am a devoted fan to the most unique collection of professional sports teams anyone has heard of. I coach children and adults and continue to play recreational soccer. I love to spend time with my family, travel, go camping, play soccer, write fiction, write commentary, write, read, write about what I read, watch soccer (live)... how much time have you got? I am a writer. For as long as I can remember, writing has been the way I open myself, to the world and for self-reflection.
Wilkine BrutusI'm a Haitian-American performance poet/filmmaker from South Florida. I'm the Founder/writer of The Vanguard Element. I obtained my B.A degree in Multimedia Studies: Film from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. I'm currently living in South Korea as an ESL teacher... I'm a forlorn being, constantly questioning and examining our subjective significance as individuals and within the collective. It is not in my interest to stand out for the sake of just doing so, I'm a genuine apathetic and altruistic soul and frankly, I'd like to contribute to mankind in the form of poetry and social commentary.
