Silent DiscoThe concept of a disco where people dance to music listened to on headphones rather then using a speaker system is a brainchild of Silent Discotheque Berlin.

Alexa UrieMy name is Alexa, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and am a crazed fan of bands on the Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance label. Panic at the Disco is seriously my life.
Linda Goss-KozicI was born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, PA. That was 55 years ago and I have traveled quite extensively since then. I graduated from Elmer L. Meyers High School in 1974 and Wilkes College ( now Wilkes University) in 1978. My passion for writing developed from a very young age and I did quite well in creative writing classes! After receiving my degree in Sociology and in Community Service, I worked for Step-by-Step, Inc. for about 6 years. It was a transitional living agency which helped mental health clients gain as many skills as possible to live within society. It was an incredible experience and much of what I learned as a counselor in that environment has helped me navigate the intricacies of life itself. While working in social services, I always pursued my passion for music. I studied classical voice for 5 years through private instruction and took organ lessons as a child. Although you would think my choice of study would lead me into the classical arena, that was not where my passion took me. I ran the gamut of folk music to classic rock, disco fever, into full blown out heavy metal! I co-found a band that was fairly well known in northeast pennsylvania back in the late 1970 s into the early 1980 s. But, life takes us many places and eventually I was on the round with a resort all-girl band which became my transition into a world far different from the one I left behind! I would eventually work in the resorts of the Pocono Mountains and that is where my next chapter of life and new lessons began. I was immersed in a world of gifted musicians where I learned as much as I could through listening and asking questions. Of course, just being around the greats teaches you more than you could ever learn in a classroom. This is where I learned the truest meaning of being a musician.
Staci Layne WilsonCohost weekly chat show on thrillers at theStream.tv. Write for several film sites and three magazines. Directed film THE NIGHT PLAYS TRICKS. Authored books ANIMAL MOVIES GUIDE and 50 YRS OF GHOST MOVIES. My passion is fashion and style! I love to buy, wear, gift and sell vintage and designer clothing -- I have a closet and a storage space full of frocks from the 20s - today, plus a popular virtual storefront on Etsy. My favorite is architectural, fitted womens clothing: 40s deco jackets with nipped-in waistlines, peplums, smooth skin-tight pencil skirts, low-cut 70s disco wrap dresses, 80s glam, corsets, gloves, rockabilly and pin-up styles. In focusing on fashion for Yahoo! Movies, I am thrilled to be able to inform and indulge.
Melanie JohnsonI am a native and lifelong resident of Georgia, married with a 14 year old son. He is the absolute love of my life. I recently published my first book under my pen name, Dakota Lane, titled Eternal Unrest. I have another book set to come out hopefully by February's end. Writing is a passion, allowing me an escape from reality for awhile. I have written many articles without submitting them to various magazines but I plan to do so one day. I am an animal lover with 3 dogs and 2 cats of my own plus my Mom's and my Uncle's dogs come to visit everyday. I love alligators and enjoy watching them in their natural setting as opposed to those in captivity. I love water of all kinds, be it the ocean, a creek, a lake, a pool or a swamp. I visit the Okefenokee as often as possible. My dream trips include a long visit to the Florida Everglades and to the Bayous of Louisiana. I an a music lover, enjoying a variety of music. Mainly a rock-n-roll girl at heart, you may catch me listening to Country, R & B, Blues, Old-school Rap, 80's, disco, and I love Glenn Miller! I like to pop in my IPod and take a good long walk and enjoy some "me" time. I am a down-home country girl but I do love the city.
Carla BrunsI am Carla Bruns -- personal trainer, executive assistant, and a regular mom. I love movies target at preteens, have a soda addiction that I fight every day, wear sky high uncomfortable shoes to work for the sake of fashion, and wish that I could figure out how to tweet properly. I live in Union, MO with my husband, 16 year old and 20 year old sons, and the “boss” (i.e., my cat Jeffrey). I believe that kids today are stagnant and I miss being a kid and riding my bike, playing ball, walking for miles back and forth (because it was safe to do so), and swimming all summer long. As an adult I lost that carefree active lifestyle because everything is programmed or scheduled – but I still do it.. I’m addicted to magazines and will spend money on Oxygen, Muscle & Fitness Hers and any other fitness mag before I’ll buy a new shirt. Please don't tell the fashion bloggers, I don't want a riot on my hands. I have a BS in Psychology and sometimes ponder working on an MBA but then wonder if I really need it. I’ve probably spent more time thinking about it than it would have taken me to just do it. I'm also a certified personal trainer - so that means I'm really super buff and healthy (just joking!) When I drive to work I listen to ‘70s on 7 on Sirius and then flip it to Hits 1 before I open the door so people don’t give me a lecture on how disco died. I wish I had time to read more blogs because I love hearing from “real” people. My favorites change every day but I’ve always loved Want What You Have. Which has nothing to do with fitness or fashion or beauty. As a matter of fact she doesn’t even wear makeup. Very weird!
Kai StarrKai Starr is a writer of novels, songs, webcomics, graphic novels and the occasional bout of bad poetry. He is also an artist, whose work appears not only on his own Kyoki Press website, but on many others, such as deviantART and flickr. He loves Westerns, Science Fiction/Fantasy books, good action movies, blues and rock music, disco and funk, classical music, medieval and Renaissance music, horses, cats, goats, and dark chocolate. He likes to play guitar and sing, visit military and aviation museums, and dance like a maniac when he thinks no one is looking. He speaks English and French, and knows bits of Japanese, Mandarin, German, Russian, Spanish, Italian, and Medieval French. He is a nut for research and can often be found with his nose buried in some ancient chronicle or history tome. Kai lives in a big haunted Victorian house in Texas, where he is owned by a beautiful wife, a nutty blood brother, and six crazy cats.

Antoinette DatocAntoinette Datoc launched her blog, Just Another Ordinary Day on September 22, 2010. At first blush you might think her goal is to secure a spot in the cast of Dancing with the Stars. While it's true that she loves to dance, is addicted to Dancing with the Stars and fantasizes about getting her shot at competing for that coveted disco ball trophy, her real agenda has more to do with her aspiration to write for a living than it does with dancing. Her daily musings appear on any given day,Mondays through Thursdays and her advice column, Ask Ant Advice - Not Just Another Ordinary Advice Column is published weekly on Fridays. Antoinette is a 1984 Yale graduate with a B.A. in psychology. She lives an ordinary and happy life in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, Pat, their two sons, Christian and Jared and their friendly ten-year old wheaten terrier, Pudge, who happens to be the best dog in the whole entire universe. After nearly fifty years of contemplating her life's calling, Antoinette has decided that she would like "novelist" and "syndicated humor columnist" to appear on her resume just under "Mom," which currently tops the canon of occupations. Of course given the chance, she'd be more than willing to add Dancing with the Stars to her list of employers, should the opportunity present itself.
Basia KalinI've covered an entire Jethro Tull album on a dare, joined a Klezmer group and learned, to a degree, Yiddish so I could sing AND play piccolo in the band and founded an orchestra and concert band. I survived - with most of my brain cells, a disco band. I have been a very busy mad piccolo player. I play at churches, wedding, receptions, bars, wherever I can whip out the flute or piccolo (or, on occasion, the viola) BUT I have other interests besides being the center of attention on the band stand. . I love the Chicago Cubs - because they are family. I grew up down the street from Wrigley and you love your family no matter what. So there, Cubbie un-lovers. . Being an aging single babe, I of course have the obligatory cats '" you can't be a mad piccolo player aging Cubs fan and not have cats. . I love to garden but, being a city dweller am limited to my big back porch. I have grown hot peppers, tomatoes, tons of basil (my pesto kills) and of course pretty, pretty flowers. . Another benefit of growing up in Chi-town is that the local PBS station used to run silent movies on the weekends. I got very addicted to them as a child and try to get to see them at the Chicago Silent Film Society when I can. . Silent movies lead one to foreign films '" trust me, they do. And so, I must admit that the overwhelming majority of films I watch are foreign. I love America, but the majority of films made here are aimed at ADD teen-agers who want to see things blow up or women chain-sawed or worse. To each her own, but that doesn't float my boat so, off to France or Iran or Ireland or -- for my movie fixes. I've even got my aged moms watching them. . Add to the above my eclectic taste in books. I must be on the FBI and CIA lists if only for all the books I checked out from the library on serial murderers. You see, I find the human mind fascinating. I am not as interested in the "what" of murders but the "why" '" why did this fellow or that become such a beast?
Cleopatra SmithI'm originally from the south, where there used to be a lot of southern hospitality. I grew up listening to legendary music of the 70's: disco, funk, and rhythm and blues. I spent my summers playing with dozens of kids in the neighborhood until the street lights came on...awhh...what memories. Anyway, my mom and I moved to Virginia to start a new life, so to speak. It was culture shock for me, and I haven' quite gotten over it. LOL. Eventually, I excelled in school, and went off to college hoping to figure out how to become a professional. I kind of wanted to be a psychologist, but I wasn't passionate about it. While in college, I met my future husband who came just in time to give me the needed boost to finish my degree. I did. However, neither of us could find decent jobs in Richmond, VA so we moved a little further north. Here, we got married, found good jobs, started our family, and bought a home. I was an English teacher before having our first child. Now, I am a housewife, the old- fashioned kind who loves cooking, gardening, playing with my kids, laughing with my husband, and getting on my knees to pray anytime of the day or night. I've always written things, a lot. Anything. Journals, letters, lists of likes/dislikes, etc. Now, I will be sharing my writing with the world. This is exciting.
Derek_WalesMy name is Derek Ayre and I was born in Swansea, South Wales. I entered the music business as a pianist in my early twenties, and worked in local social and cabaret clubs. With the advent of disco-tech in the mid 70s and the later use "canned music" for cabaret artists, live musicians became less in demand, so I retrained as a hypnotherapist in 1976, and worked in my own practice until I went into semi-retirement this year (2010). In the late 90s, looking to write a book about my experiences with personal development, I enrolled in a creative writing class with Cardiff University, where the love of writing fiction I had experienced in my childhood became renewed. I went on to write a book on personal development, but with the advent of the Internet, I decided to break it all down into articles that he published on various websites and blogs to help others.

DJ VoltronDJ Voltron was born in Brick City (Newark) NJ. The youngest of 4 children, it was quite difficult to escape the life of music. Both of his parents are singers and his brother and two sisters are artists. At a very early age, his parents would take him to see Broadway shows. As he watched the masterful skill of singers and actors, he began to carve his own skill in the entertainment industry. One day, his parents took him to see Savion Glover in "Tap Dance Kid". As Voltron reviled in the beats of Glover's performance, he used his imagination and began to create beats in his head on a turntable. He took those beats and put them on a turntable. Little did his family know, another artist was about to be born. His older brother and two cousins who were already successful DJ's in New York and New Jersey saw the growth of Voltron and began to cultivate his talent. Influenced by his mentors DJ Haneef, DJ Stormin Norman and DJ Mike Lee, Voltron vigorously practiced the art of beat mixing with 70'²s Disco and House Music under the umbrella of The Almighty Music Company (AMC). While at AMC, Voltron performed at many events, such as weddings, fashion shows, bar-be-ques and more. As a teen in New Jersey, he had special appearances at various nightclubs such as The Black Box and Club Dark Shadows. As it stands, DJ Voltron has been spinning music for over 20 years. After moving to Atlanta and a short hiatus from the turntables, he has come back stronger than ever spinning an eclectic mix of NeoSoul, Hip Hop, Rock, Oldschool, Reggae and House Music. He is the most versatile DJ in Atlanta and one of few who has the most diverse Mash-Ups ever seen. DJ Voltron was educated at DeVry University having received a BS in Electronics Engineering. He uses the latest technology (Serato Scratch Live) in his sets. With such a strong diverse and skill capacity, he has become one of Atlanta's most sought after DJ's.
