My name is Kelly Ragland, known to friends, clients and colleagues as "Rags". I am a monthly columnist on the subject "Internet Strategies" for Printwear Magazine. And I am behind the web site mydartshirts.com as the webmaster and graphic designer. The majority of my spare time is devoted to darts. In 1990 I received my degree from The Art Institute of Dallas with my education consisting of graphic arts, advertising and creative media design. Since 1990 my career and experiences have traveled through quite a few industries, working with media from large scale graphics and signs to 10 years in the embroidery industry as a professional designer, digitizer and software instructor. All of these areas have allowed me to specialize in artistic design solutions for businesses of all kinds, in one way or another working with their particular marketing strategies. Since 1996 my services have included web design and development, and the ability to provide creative ways to assist clients in building an Internet presence that can be successful as well as functional for the company in search of a successful Internet campaign.

Born and raised in Texas, I have lived in Conn., Mass., Puerto Rico and, currently, in VA. I attended Texas Christian University with majors in history and English and a minor in philosophy. I have worked in the T.C.U. and Yale libraries, taught English as a foreign language at Interamerican U. in Puerto Rico, and retired after 30 years from the U.S. Dept. of Labor. I have an adult son and daughter. A wonderful, beautiful mutt (who looks like a chocolate retriever) resides with me. His only fault is that he decides when it is time for him to eat in the morning and pokes me out of bed. I am an avid quilter. I do machine and hand embroidery, needlepoint, cross-stitch, and occasionally make machine lace and do other types of needlework. I also read mysteries, science fiction, and the Washington Post. I have made and donated over 1,500 stuffed animals to the children's ward in local hospitals. l

I'm happy to to say that Associated Content was sold to Yahoo! Voices last year. I'm now writing for Yahoo! I'm excited about the new changes and I hope to bring my expertise to all yarn and pattern lovers. I'm a professional designer with patterns published by Annie's Attic, The Needlework Shop, The American School of Needlework, Annie's Patterns and Needlework, Crochet World and Annie's Scrap Crochet Club. I enjoy designing shawls and using the pineapple stitch Filet stitch whenever I can. Although crocheting is my first love, I'm also proficient in other needlework techniques including tapestry, knitting, cross stitch, embroidery, and plastic canvas. I also design in beading and mosaics. I do demonstrations for a leading craft store on the East Coast so I'm familiar with all types of crafts. I enjoy crafting with recyclables, anything that has to do with paper, plastic and glass. I like creating with clay. It's fun for me to design crafts for children especially interactive type crafts such as toys, puppets, games and after-school activities. Holidays bring out many new ideas but I'm not limited to Christmas, Valentine's Day and Easter. I take pleasure in the more obscure celebrations, such as Three Kings Day and Beltane. I teach large crowds and individually, both young and old. I am always learning something new so, my skills are dynamic. I have a personal charity call A Stocking Full Of Love. Hand made stockings, collected from my internet friends are distributed to children that may be less fortunate than our own.
