  • Betty Humphrey
Betty graduated in 2003 from the Virginia School of Massage in Charlottesville, Va. and has since been in practice as part of a successful chiropractic office in the Harrisonburg, Va. area. Betty is proud her clients regularly refer friends to her, in addition to relying on her healing hands over the years themselves. I remind clients that our bodies were made wonderfully to heal themselves and that we just need to put them in the correct environment in order for healing to occur, says Betty. The massage therapist says she loves the fact that at the end of each day she has fulfilled her mission to reduce or eliminate pain. Healing on All Levels Betty teaches from her book Kinetic Forgiveness: Learning to Forgive Like God a healing modality for those who are interested in releasing past negative events from their minds and bodies. Healing on all levels begins with kinetic forgiveness. What to Expect Each treatment will depend on the client s particular needs, but in a one-hour session Betty often devotes about 40 minutes to the client s back and 20 minutes to the front. Specialties Betty works with the principles and techniques of Kinetic Forgiveness in a specialized massage modality that she developed, called Kinetic Healing. This is a service which works through slow and deliberate massage movements to help her client to discover the places in their bodies that are holding onto past emotional trauma. Through this modality, she assists her client in clearing out the old energy of this negative attachment so that new energy can flow through the area. She and her Kinetic Healing Clients believe that this will cleanse and heal that area of the body by bringing vibrational levels back into balance.

My life to this point can best be described as; "an interesting, colorful, and at times difficult struggle," on the road to balance and peace. I've traveled many varied paths, some light and beautiful, others very dark and terrifying to reach this stage. My journey has been one of release, forgiveness, and service. The goal of this spiritual sojourn is enlightenment and a desire to vibrate at a higher level of consciousness. I currently live a solitary existence in Vermont with my feline buddy "Ernie the cat"

I started life as an atheist and became a Christian at age 16. I was baptized and confirmed Catholic at 21. Now I am Southern Baptist. Some would accuse me of being a radical Christian evangelical conservative, to which I say, “Guilty, as charged!” My parents were both atheists. My mother belonged to the Unitarian/Universalist Church, where I attended Sunday School as a child. I was a member of Liberal Religious Youth in my early teens. So, how did I become a Christian? As a child, I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandparents, who were both devout Christians. When with them, I attended the Methodist Church and Sunday School. Also, many of my friends were Catholic. On sleepovers, I would go with them to Mass on Sunday mornings. However, as a teen, I was adamantly atheist, debating that “God was dead” in school. At 16, for a school assignment, I did a term paper on Michael Servetus, who wrote “Erroribus de Trinitatus” and is considered the father of Unitarianism. As I researched and read his works (in the original Latin), I came to realize he, not the Trinitarians, was wrong. I put down my pen, got on my knees and begged Jesus for forgiveness. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. When I announced my conversion, my parents, especially my mother, were less than thrilled. They forbid me to be baptized until I was 21, which was when I took an adult catechism class. My grandmother wanted the family to disown me for choosing to become Catholic, but my grandfather’s tolerance prevailed. No other event in my life has or ever will surpass in importance my acceptance of Jesus Christ. I have enjoyed my career, relationships with friends and family, education, travels, etc. But, they all fade to insignificance in comparison with my spiritual life. There was a poster with a charging lion. Its text read, “If being Christian were a

I am Rowland Carper from Ohio. I am married for 23 years now, have three boys that I am very proud of and four grand kids that I just adore. I am on disability/retirement from law enforcement since 2003. I had 14 years of service. I love to write. It has always been a passion of mine. I also write as therapy for wounds deep in my heart. I am counting on God our Father and Jesus Christ his son to help heal those wounds and finally come to terms with them. Through my travels of life I am seeking true Christianity. With help of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit I am sure I will reach my goal. I have given myself to God and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus of all sins. As i am man and will still sin I know that God will forgive me. All I have to do is confess my sin and ask for his forgiveness. I am proud to say that I do not travel alone, as always Jesus Christ is with me in my heart and my wife is with me by by side. This pleases me very much for I know that when we die we be able to spend eternity together in the kingdom of God. As I learn from reading spiritual motivational books, scripture and what is forwarded to us from the preacher at church from God. I find myself getting stronger and stronger to fight off the evil ways of the devil. Material things are nothing. It's the Faith and Love of Jesus Christ and God that sets us free. I have opened my heart and hope that you can to as we travel through these days of our lives to become true Christians. I just recently started reading. I used to hate to read but until I purchased my wife a Nook and downloaded a spiritual motivational book from the library for me on it. I wouldn't touch a book. Now I have my own Nook and I am reading the series "The Left Behind." by Lahaye. I am on the second series and I tell you once you start reading, Christian or not, you can not put it down. He has a way with words that makes the words just glow and grab you by the soul. It was the first spiritual

I was born in New York City in 1951. We moved to the suburbs of Long Island when I was three, where I grew up as a typical "baby boomer," watching TV and eating fast food. My family was Jewish. I received a certain amount of religious training. When I was thirteen, I had my Bar Mitzvah ceremony. Just a few days later, the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show and I was hooked. My interest as a fan blossomed into my learning to play the drums. When I went to college in 1969, I became a so-called "hippie." I became interested in existential philosophy. I used many of the popular drugs of that time, which I mention not because I am at all proud of it, but because it did broaden my range of experience. It also led to a lot of mental and emotional problems. Nonetheless, my search for truth continued until I became a follower of Jesus Christ, who gave me forgiveness and healing. I finally obtained a BA in psychology, but for logistical reasons was never able to go to graduate school. I did, however, attend seminary school at the age of forty-one, with the intent to become a seminary teacher. However, the market for this profession dried up and I made the decision to leave graduate school after three semesters. On the other hand, my life as a musician did press on well. I taught myself to play keyboards and discovered that I could sing. Then I taught myself to play blues harmonica. After that, I trained on my own to play guitar. In recent years, I obtained a video camera and I have posted several music videos of original songs on Youtube. I am now sixty years old. I live in Indiana with Brenda, my wife of sixteen years. She is a woman of beauty both inside and out, and I am greatly blessed to share my life with her. We are getting close to retirement age and looking forward to it with excitement.

Sis. Kimberly Marie Hartfield is an Ordained Minister in the Evangelical Faith. She lives in Hattiesburg, MS, and is a mother of eight children. Kim has personally experienced the healing hand of God in her own life as God has brought her through diverse tribulations during the course of her lifetime. Through God's merciful forgiveness of her own sins and His grace given to her to forgive those who have been stumbling blocks, she has overcome many of these trials. She believes that God has blessed her with the ability to confront and relate these commonly experienced issues to the Christian community in her writing, which she uses as a basis for her ministry. Go Fish Ministries, Inc is primarily for victims of sexual and domestic violence, but is also a ministry for the unchurched and churched population in general, as Jesus said, Follow me and I will teach you to fish for others. Kim's love for the Lord, along with her passion for writing has drawn her to explore areas of crisis from the perspective of her own experience in the hope that she may bring an empathetic and compassionate insight to God's people through her ministry. She believes that as many biblical writers were less than perfect, ordinary people with a strong faith, that with her own strong faith, God can and will do something extraordinary in her less than perfect, ordinary life. Kim has been called to the homeland mission field of North America and hopes to be able to use her writing as a tool for the ministry of witnessing to the grace of God and comforting God's people with the truth of God's mercy. She claims II Corinthians 1: 3 & 4 as her calling, which states: "May Yahweh God be blessed, the God our Christ Yeshua comes from, the God all mercies come from, and the God all comforts come from; Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we may be able to comfort those, who are in any kind of trouble, with the same kind of comfort that we ourselves have been comforted with by God."

I'm your typical piscean. I daydream constantly about the future and regret many things from my past. But I'm healing. Self-forgiveness is a slow process. I want a jellyfish aquarium and I'm a bookworm. My family is demented, perverse and beautiful. I'm in love with my perfectly flawed teddybear. Piercings and tattoos are subjects of fascination. A current ratio of 8:1. I could spend all day in a museum. Specifically Art or Natural History. Snowglobes, Books, Old Cartoons, Chocolate, I Love Lucy reruns and Horror Movies are things I'd like to be buried with. I have joint custody with my loverboy over one boa, two ball pythons, and an insane dog. I wish I had the room to rescue all the animals that needed rescuing but it doesn't always work that way. On good days, I smell like vanilla. On bad days, I smell like stale sleep. Sunflowers make me giddy. As do candles. I could play Mario and Scrabble all night. Although, I'm not much for insomnia anymore. I love college because of the brainwork. And 9 days out of 10, I'm content with the world around me.

All of my life I have been drawn to animals and they have been drawn to me. Whether wild or tame, I have always seen them as a sort of guide through this wild and crazy world. My passion led me to animal rescue and rehabilitation. While my heart sometimes breaks at the sadness I see, I am also blessed daily with the sights of healing, hope, forgiveness, and love. This is what fuels me and teaches me how to be a better human being.

Grew up pretty normal with two older sisters and my Catholic parents' marriage still intact as it is today. Went through puberty then onto mischief and mayhem as a teenager. Barely graduated from High School but still went on to College. Learned about paying bills, awful roommates and spoiled young adults during that time. Then I went on to work full time and discovered that I didn't want to be behind a counter asking for healthinsurance cards all day. I went back to school to learn massage therapy and had an awesome experience both in school and working. I still do massage out of my home and usually practice as a ministry to help others that I feel need help. Five years ago I met my husband and became a Born Again Christian. (It's really not as scary as it sounds you know.) I used to be a real mess until I met my husband and learned about accountability and forgiveness. I thank God for him almost daily :D So now I have an 18 month old and I am staying at home raising her while my trucker husband is working in a dispatch office ALL day. So I thought maybe I could write about a few things. I don't have anybody to share my stories with other than an 18 month old. She is probably tired of all of those stories by now. Thanks for reading about me!

Having been married to my college boyfriend since 2005, I am a mother to one little boy born on New Year's Eve in 2008. I run a school-age childcare program in an at-risk neighborhood, and I am working towards a MA to teach students with special needs. Although I currently live in Boston, my desire to to move my family back to my hometown in Pennsylvania. Raised in a small Pennsylvania suburb but currently living in the city, I value the attributes of small-town living but can appreciate the opportunties that come with city-living. Growing up with little diversity, it was only as a young adult that I began to understand and appreciate other cultures. My year abroad in England further solidified my passion for learning about foreign countries and cultures, and I now take every opportunity to speak to people from other countries to better learn about their experiences and traditions. It is my greatest desire to travel Europe, Africa and Australia with my husband and son (and any future children we many have). Although I was raised a tradition minded Lutheran, I have had a spiritual awakening in the last few years that led me to appreciate a more contemporary style of worship. I would say I am a "born again" Christian in that my old self died when my heart was filled with Christ's love and forgiveness. It is taking a lot of work to actually live my life as a good witness, and it is something I will continue working on my entire life. I am forever trying to find ways to expand my knowledge and I have an insatiable thirst for learning. I spend hours on the computer looking up information, finding myself led from subject to subject as my search continues. Such searches have led me to have what I call "Jeopardy" knowledge...random tid-bits stored away in my brain. Currently, I am on a mission to drop two clothing sizes by the spring. I am doing this with diet, exercise, and will-power to avoid sweets.
