I'm really just another girl next door. You might find me throwing frisbee at the park, chaperoning a class field trip to the museum, folding the bazillionth load of laundry, or sitting in quiet meditation exploring the universe within. I was raised as a Mormon in a small community, and by the time I turned 30, realized I didn't recognize the life I was living. It was a facade, built to please everyone around me. My search in the past 7 years has been to reconcile my thirst for the 'more' that is out there, so that I clearly recognize the soul that is revealed through my eyes when I look in the mirror. I am passionate about a variety of subjects - pre-dominantly with everything spiritually oriented, so long as it is approached with a very open-mind. I combine my love for metaphysics with all of my other passions and it has allowed me insight as to how I can assist others. I'm currently juggling many projects, doing my best to stick to one of them for a long enough period of time to implement the plethora of ideas and inspirations that are always flowing in... before I jump to the next one. It's a cyclical carnival of awesome causes and projects that have potential for inspiring and influencing many people!

  • Jenna Lory
My first love is horseback riding, but I am also a painter and a writer. For the past decade I have been hesitant to share my work because I think I suck. But now that I'm a mom, it's time to buck up. I love to read and I love to learn, so I'm looking forward to writing about the things I know and am learning about. I've worked as a barn manager and exercise rider. I've volunteered with NAHRA therapeutic riding programs. I've been employed as a game show producer for the school assembly program, Wheel of Wisdom. My love for coffee brought me barista work for a while. I've taught swimming lessons to people of all ages and I've motivated others just to get off the couch and toss a Frisbee around. I am always inspired by movement be it physical or mental. I believe when you are moving you are part of a little change. Change is the only thing you can depend on in life and so it's good to get comfortable with it. My most recent accomplishments have been surviving my husband's year-long deployment to Iraq, becoming a personal trainer and setting a personal best 6:08 mile. Watching my daughter learn how to speak English also inspired me to become literate in Spanish. My new goals are to finally bring all my talents to fruition, while keeping a happy and active lifestyle with my family. If my daughter walks through life carrying half of the confidence I have always lacked, then I will consider myself to be a successful mother. If I write one research article, persuasive essay, or book review per week for the Yahoo! Contributor Network, and one person reads it and truly benefits from my words, then I will deem myself a successful writer.
  • Ella Oco
Has been in litigation and trial work for a number of years but has always wanted to be a writer. Continues to believe in battling Philippine corruption and cronyism, and continues to sneak in writing at least one book in her lifetime. Has developed a green thumb, so a book should be another likelihood. Was introduced to mountain-climbing, ultimate frisbee, commuter-biking, surfing, and tennis after an ACL courtesy of a momentary fascination with aikido. Adores, and continues to be amazed more each day by, her two girls. Recently rediscovered solo traveling along with the realization that ruin only leads to wonderful waves of transformation in our lives.

  • Lori Hazel
Lori is a life long traveler on the path to personal fitness. Some might say she started down the path during her age group competitive swimming days or while playing Little League Softball. Others would tell you it happened when she reached her maximum density and suffered from chronic back and joint pain after her college swimming career came to an end. The when is not as important as the why and how? The why or the importance of personal fitness became significant during her years as a Forester and Fire Manager along with desires to participate in the activities she loves, such as wilderness backpacking and endurance cycling events. While living on an extremely tight budget, she developed a fitness plan and nutritional strategies that enabled her to lose weight and get in shape to meet the physical requirements and demands of her profession and hobbies. Lori has earned certifications as a Fitness Trainer and Cycling Coach, and has experience designing programs to help individuals to lose 50+ pounds, improve their overall health and fitness, complete 100+ mile bike events, marathons, improve competitive swimming skills, to learn and compete in martial arts. When she's not working, she's outside playing Frisbee with her dog, on a day hiking trip or wilderness backpacking adventure, or enjoying a local bike ride.

  • Lorenzo Pascua
My hometown is right here in Bentonville. I attended Bentonville High School and then moved over to Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to obtain my undergraduate degree at John Brown University. Since graduating from JBU I have chosen to pursue a career in physical therapy and personal training. I can be found, more often than not, riding my bicycle around town or playing ultimate Frisbee at various cities across the country. Ever since I was thirteen years old I have been training in a fitness center. And I have been learning every step of the way. I am a big proponent of life-long learning and believe that anyone is capable of accomplishing any goal he or she sets in front of himself or herself. Depending on one's given level of fitness, I use a combination of classic strength and flexibility exercises along with functional training and Olympic lifts to bring people to the proverbial "next level." My passion is driving people to not only improve their fitness and physique, but also alter their concept of the possible. The best things that anybody can do are those that are hard.
