The cliff notes version is as follows: I was born in a suburb of Chicago and lived there until I was seven years old. At that time, my father became a diplomat and thus began my journey growing up overseas. I returned to the U.S. when I was eighteen and after some time working in D.C. I moved to Boston. I've lived here for 24 years. I've worked at the now extinct Computer Museum, American Program Service, the Copley Plaza Hotel and for the last sixteen years a small nonprofit. I fell into the world of development and in love with sharing stories through writing fundraising appeals. Now after 12 years of writing, I have annual reports, many direct mail pieces, and lots of website content under my belt. I'm was also blessed with two children who challenge me in every way to be a better person and even better mother. They certainly hold a mirror up to me - whether I like it or not. Now the three of us are embarking on our own journey of living on our own, and I'm ready to show them what it is like to grab life by the reins.
  • Vicki Volmer
A small business owner providing fundraising opportunities for groups and individuals through the sales of our products and working to help fund the dream of kids in need. Real Estate has been a ten year profession, photography is a passion and my business is from the heart and the need to Give Back. Finding the right path is an ongoing challenge and one I take with eyes wide open and on occasion with sunglasses to protect from the brightness of my bigger than life hopes and dreams. Staying focussed is the challenge and remaining true, the goal. After taking several screen writing courses, I learned that finding a voice, which can and will convey what I wish to say without sounding redundant with a meandering voice that others may not care to hear, is definately challenging. I am married, have kids that are successful, own a dog and a fish, love the beach and know a littte about a lot of things. Also to stay in line with the biography information, I have worked at a theme park, drove a hotel bus for tips, worked bagging groceries, managed a make-up counter at a department store, regional mgr for cheer and athletic uniform co, sold houses, raised kids, worked as a ticket agent for an airline until 9/11, take headshots for actors and own my own business. Like I said a little bit about a lot of stuff.

  • Jeff Stanger
Jeff Stanger was born in 1968 under mysterious circumstances that may or may not have included CIA involvement. He grew up in Indiana and took to writing at an early age. In 1986, he enrolled at Indiana University where he spent the better part of a decade. Despite being handed a degree and a mandate to leave campus, he managed to hang around Bloomington for another 6 years before finally moving to Indianapolis. In 2005, he released his first novel, Trolley Dodgers, based on a column he wrote for the now defunct BC Magazine. (Nearly all of the newspapers and magazines he has worked for have gone under, thus earning him the distinction of being the only writer banned from gainful employment at every major newspaper and periodical in the 48 contiguous states.) Trolley Dodgers was very well received and has earned the author enough money to keep his two turtles fed (He still has to work for a living). The book is a humorous look at the town of Bloomington, IN as they try to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kansaska was released in 2008. Although it's hard to pronounce, it's easy to read and that might be why it's been a hit on Amazon's Kindle application. The book follows a season in the mythical K.R.A.P. League and is a splendid return to the glory days (1940's) of minor league baseball. The romantic novel Delicious Fiction is up next. It will be released Summer 2011. When he's not writing books, Stanger is a fundraiser, public speaker, and radio talk show host. He is also the publisher of Blue Trolley Press, an online magazine for fundraising professionals.
  • Tara Neale
Writer, madonna and more... Tara Neale is pursuing her life-long dream…writing what she calls ‘reality romance,’ the normal sexploits of 'average women.' But don't be discouraged, there is not much that her characters will not get up to. Tara finds it hard to fit into the box of life or neat little categories. She feels that life is too often like trying to climb up the down escalator. Over the last forty-six years, she has held a variety of roles...preacher's wife, fundraiser, stay-at-home mom and even exotic dancer. It is from this plethora of life experiences that she draws her strong characters, whose stories she feels honor bound to tell. After a decade working as a fundraising manager for charities in the US and UK, she now devotes herself to her writing and her daughter. Most mornings, she can be found typing away on her laptop with a cup of hot, black coffee nearby. Her days are filled rushing after her delightful special needs daughter as they explore and learn together. Since Tara spend lots of money on books, she has two book review blogs. Indie Reviews (http://taraneale.wordpress.com) promotes the best self-published romance authors and their books. While my Islington Homeschool Mom (http://islingtonhomeschool.wordpress.com) helps parents of special needs children makes sense of all the theories and resources that are out there and find those that work for them and their families.
  • Nathaniel Broyles
At the age of 36, I have worked in a variety of jobs ranging from retail to accounts payable. For the past six years, however, I have worked in the field of Institutional Advancement, which is better known as college fundraising. It's a rewarding field to be a part of as I get to spend my days on a college campus and surrounded by the very young people whose lives my work directly impacts. In my spare time, I enjoy writing short stories and the occasional article through Yahoo. It is also rare the find me without a book or two that I am in the process of reading. A love of literature, whether great or purely entertaining, was instilled in me at a young age. In addition, I can blame my sister for my addiction to social media.

  • Regina Lif
I am a fundraising professional at a conservation-oriented non-profit. I have an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Latin American Studies and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. I enjoy spending time outdoors whenever possible and also love camping and animals! Recently married, I consider this a new area of expertise, having planned my entire wedding from start to finish. I loved it. I hated it. I was all over the emotional spectrum during the process! I love to read and write and try to fit both in whenever possible. Sometimes it's difficult to choose between the two, but my Kindle has become a constant sidekick of mine in recent months. I enjoy reading a variety of book types, which is also reflected in the wide range that my own writing spans including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, editorial, and a touch of most other forms!
