Tristan's passion for animals inspires his writing. Every penny he earns writing for Associated Content is donated to Hounds of the Heartland, the Central Oklahoma chapter of Greyhound Pets of America where he is a frequent volunteer and board member. By day, Tristan is a financial professional. But in his free time he loves to spend time with Cami and Calvin, his retired racing greyhounds, as well as his chihuahua Scooter, Italian greyhound Bogart, and cat Simon. Usually there is a foster dog in the mix as well. Tristan enjoys writing about all aspects of pet care and health, as well as animal-related non profits. His personal experiences with his own pets and his work with non profits both inform his writing. Tristan also enjoys writing sports commentary - particularly for his hometown Oklahoma City Thunder, alma mater Oklahoma Sooners, and transplant Kansas City Chiefs - and fancies himself a fantasy football guru.

Over the course of 20 years I have provided communications services to non-profit organizations, mid-size businesses and major corporations, including writing, media relations and community outreach initiatives. Business sectors include non-profit, technology, healthcare and professional services. I have a special interest in helping animal welfare organizations succeed in their rescue and adoption efforts on behalf of dogs, cats and other animals in need. For more than a dozen years my communications work and hands-on care have benefited rescued dogs, and particularly greyhounds, in California. I personally have adopted both cats and dogs for the past 20 years. Recently I have helped smaller organizations develop communications programs in line with their business objectives by providing fundamental content (including positioning statements, key messaging, copy), tools and processes to help them succeed. This includes incorporating social and digital media into their communications mix as part of their overall programs. My expertise also includes serving as media spokesperson, providing media training and handling crisis communications.

"Giggling Buddha" is a name inspired by my infant son. In addition to an infant, I have a pre-teen daughter, a husband, and three rescued greyhounds. I'm 34, and stay at home. No, we can't afford it. I'm on federal disability and things are always tight.

My Wife, Nancy, and I are full-time RV'ers. In spring of 2010 some events caused Nancy and I to re-evaluate our lives. We were running a race on a treadmill, as so many people do, and it wasn't fulfilling our lives. We needed a change. So we sold our home and most all of our stuff and began a journey of simplification. We bought a 37' Winnebago Vectra and moved in with our pets, Luke and Leia, our two greyhounds, and Ferris and Jeannie, our two one-eyed Maine Coon Cats, and headed out on the open road.
