Most of my education is in the life sciences, including Zoology and Genetics. I do, however, have a passion for all of the sciences, with Geology and Statistics thrown in for good measure. I graduated Nursing school and have been an RN since 1991. My specialty areas were Geriatrics and Oncology. I also worked as a corporate nurse, conducted interviews, hired nursing personnel, taught CNA classes, and conducted staff in-services for health and safety. One of my most heartfelt passions is wildlife biology and conservation. I have successfully raised orphaned baby beavers, cottontail rabbits and various species of wild birds for release back into their natural habitat when possible. I love working with reptiles, keeping and breeding Chameleons (Veiled and Mellers), Desert Horned Lizards, and Bearded Dragons. When I have the time I build stained glass lamp shades, wedding and other special occasion cakes, and have been successful making and selling bridal bouquets and wedding arrangements and sets. I now work from home while studying business and marketing. Freelance writing is a wonderful outlet for my varied interests, and I have become proficient in SEO, though keeping up with the ever changing theories is a challenge. My story is a portrait of miracles. In 1987 I was bitten by a rabid Raccoon. I was told that I was the first person to survive Rabies since the 1800's. On June 1, 2009 I began treatment for Pancreatic Cancer. Once that was behind us my husband was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer and began treatments on June 1, 2010. His is also a success story, with his last two PET scans being completely clear.

My name is Sarah, and I am wierd. I pick up a non fiction book and want to absorb the material like an educated sponge and apply what I have soaked in into my every day life. i enjoy gardening, reading, writing, cooking, and really anything you want to teach me! I spent the majority of my teens under the hood of my dads chevy cars learning the mechanical ropes, with my mother in her garden awaiting my thumb to turn green, and at night my face buried deeply into a book. I am a reputable mother and wife, caretaker of various lizards and creepy crawly animals others will pray to avoid their entire lives, and newby gamer. My life is weird and totally in no way ordinary, just the way I like it.

Hello world! My name is Kerry and 12 months ago I lost my job and at age 54, found myself at a crossroads in my life. Even if l managed to find another job, l would find myself retiring with very little super. All l would have to look forward to would be poverty in my old age. That is when l made the huge decision to stay at home and see if l could create a residual income from the internet. I have set myself a time frame of 3 years. It has not been easy but l have certainly learned a lot. First thing l learned is there are a lot of people on the internet who prey on newbies like me with the intention of taking your money (and not offering much help). At this rate l could go broke very quickly. What l realised is that although essentially, none of the programs l had bought had actually worked for me, along the way l had picked up some good practical ideas and have started implementing them and am happy to say l am starting to see some results. l also have an online shopping site that is slowly starting to bear fruit. The way l figure it, l should be way better off in 10 years (when l would be due to retire) than trying to survive on my measley Super payout. I am what is known as an empty nester, you know, children flown the coup (husband too actually) so...if it is to be, it is up to me. Happy days. My passions are many and varied. I was brought up with a brother who was a mad nature boy so have had many creatures along the way, from tadpoles to frogs, birds, lizards (my Mother drew the line at a snake) along with lots of cats and dogs. I love animals and nature and find every creature unique and facinating. It always amazes me that we all have a purpose. I also love to travel. I have so far been to New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Bangkok. One of the best experiences of my life was living in Ireland (Dublin) for 6 months. I arrived in Dublin on my own, but made many new friends and managed to find a job at the Bed and Break

I was born in Louisiana and grew up moving all over the south, following my father's work in sales. I learned to appreciate the special nature of the south from the magnolia blossoms to the taste of fried catfish and even running the AC at Christmas time. I married my high-school sweetheart and followed him around the world during his Army career. We brought up two well-mannered children and retired from the Army in south Louisiana. Now I write books and sit on my back porch drinking sweet tea and watching the little green lizards play. I still appreciate magnolia blossoms and fried catfish and I don't mind running the AC at all during Christmas.

Born in far West Texas to a single mother of 7 children including one special needs child, I learned early on to 'entertain myself.' I loved exploring the land, catching bugs, lizards and other small animals. I was a child that kept to herself in school, preferring to sit and draw alone. I am now a married mother of two great kids and have moved back to that small West Texas town working as a 911/Police/Fire/EMS dispatcher.

I am a single mom, who juggles work, school and the joys of being a homeowner. Having had my daughter at a very young age, I quickly had to learn how to become a provider while still working toward my goal of getting an education. It took me ten years just to get my AA degree, so the journey clearly hasn't been easy. I now attend school at a public university in Southern California and am in my first year of grad school. I do this not only for myself, but to someday be an inspiration to my daughter and show her that where there is a will, there is a way. I recently purchased my first home and so far it has been an adventure. From finding lizards in the toilet to doing my own yard work, owning a home has changed my life drastically. Not only am I now an expert at tools I didn't even know existed, but I've had to learn about property taxes, supplemental taxes, interest rates and more importantly, how to live on a strict budget. Gone are the days when my family and I could take a vacation whenever we wanted. I have over seventeen years of administrative experience in the financial industry and am always looking to apply my talents toward more philanthropic endeavors. So while my life is a constant struggle, the satisfaction of raising a wonderful daughter, reaching my educational goals and buying a house all by myself, is the source of all my happiness. I wouldn't trade this life for anything in the world.

Born in a small prairie town, I currently live in a slightly larger prairie town, and in spite of our ideological differences, I remain hopelessly enamoured with the mid-west. My values are distinctly family oriented and socially liberal- I care about what's best for people, animals and the planet as a whole, interconnected organism. In a healthy society, what's best for your neighbour works out to be what's best for you too- it behooves us all to work together to support and provide for each other and our world. I am an artist, a mother, and an ardent slave to many animals, including cats, dogs, birds, rodents, lizards and tarantulas. I'm particularly fascinated with animal psychology lately, and I enjoy observing their individual motivations and learning processes through their interactions with humans and each other. It's good practice for raising teenagers. I've been involved in various online communities since the late nineties in a variety of capacities, and find online relationship dynamics fascinating as well. The success or ultimate demise of online communities and what factors contribute to this are of particular interest to me, and I've probably spent more time than it's wise to admit studying these factors in depth. There's nothing more fun than watching the rise and fall of civilization on a micro-scale.

I am almost 32 years old, have been married for 5 years, and am a stay at home mom to a busy 3-year old. I love living in Florida and being very involved in leading music at my church.

I'm originally from right here in Independence, but wandered around for awhile after high school. I spent four years in the Army as an Intelligence Analyst, and after that followed both husbands one and two to their respective military bases and homes of record, finally returning here with my second husband (and two sons) about fifteen years ago. My oldest son developed behavior problems, which led to diagnoses of both non-hyper ADD and Bi Polar Disorder. Shortly thereafter, we learned where he got it. We both take medication now. Number 2 son struggled with obesity and hyperinsulinism, but has it under control. Did I mention that after we moved back here, we also had a daughter? She is ten now, and her ADHD is so severe that we thought she might be autistic. In the middle of all that, I thought it would be a good idea to get my education, (because to be honest, I was sick of being financially dependent on a man who was never home) so I enrolled with University of Phoenix Online, and five years later had a Bachelors degree in IT. Unfortunately, the degree didn't come with a hundred years experience, so it hasn't done me much good in the job market. However, I did learn to write essays and was able to earn a little money doing that. Gradually I learned about other online writing opportunities, and took advantage of them. Additionally, I was blessed with reconnecting with a man I first met when I was 18 and he was 31. We were both stationed in Korea at the time, and I considered him my older brother, father confessor, etc. Now, I consider him the love of my life and my best friend. In the midst of all the madness and chaos that has been my life, there were a few constants, including my love of music and books (what writer doesn't love books?). There have always been "critters" in my life as well. Right now, we have three cats, two dogs, assorted frogs and lizards, and whatever is in my daughter's hand. My life is never dull!
