My name is Matthew Heydon or Mad Matt. I grew up all over the place, but mostly El Cajon, CA. To describe my life in one word I would have to say interesting. Life wasn't always easy, but it's OK -- it gave me a lot of interesting stories that I will soon share with the world. I'm in the military and my hobby is writing. I figured the military doesn't pay that well, so hey, if I can make a few extra bucks with this and get my name out in the world, then why not write? So read my stuff, love it, subscribe and become fans today. Thank you.
  • Timothy Robbins
I am a 100% disabled american veteran and was disabled during the first Gulf War (1990-1991). I was also in Operation Urgent fury (Nov-Dec 1983) when a hostile takeover of Grenada threatened the lives of about 200 american students who had to be evacuated to avoid a hostage situation. I was in charge of security for the 107th Military Intellagence Battalion from Fort Ord, CA. I have been in other combat situations during my 11 years in the US Army. My disabilities are Gulf War Illness and PTSD and I struggle every day to maintain my mobility and awareness of the real world. I try to keep it real on a daily basis, but I fear I will lose this battle some time in the not so far off future. I want to help other Vets & Soldiers who struggle every day as I do and I hope that sharing my knowledge will do just that.

I love the United States very much. My family is a family of veterans, so I grew up with a strong love for the military. My Dad is a National Guard soldier, and I am very proud of him! I am totally blind, so I couldn't serve directly. I found the auxiliary one day, and now I serve in the Coast Guard as an auxiliarist. Right now I am a new member. I am in the Air Force Auxiliary CAP as a second lutenent. I also love playing Taps with my honor guards very much. It allows me to give back to those who truly gave so much more than I ever could. I began playing percussion when I was twelve years old in my school band. In the eighth grade, I made District Honor Band, and in the tenth grade, I made All State Semi-finalist and was principle timpanist. I started touring with my first drum and bugle corps, Court of Honor from Atlanta, Georgia when I was seventeen. I was principle timpanist there as well, and for the next several years, I toured with various drum and bugle corps such as the Blue Saints from Sudbury Canada, Parriah Percussion Theatre from Georgia, Edmonton Strutters from Alberta, and after which I started attending university as a music performance major. I began playing the trumpet at eighteen. I was taught by my bugle corps, The Blue Saints. I began as a professional bugler completing my first Military Funeral Honors Performance November 2007. I perform in ND.
