Bacon WizardBacon Wizard is better known as Jasper Aykroyd. Originally determined to become a blacksmith, he was thwarted by lack of apprenticeships but retained his artisan sensibilities as a master cellarman and later a chef. He still wears a leather apron however, and claims it helps him make better bacon. Trained as a chef in 1997 by the Allen family (Darina, and Rachel)of (Ballymaloe Cookery School Jasper spent a year working learning the oldest cures, recipes and techniques from a mentor in Shrewsbury. This provided the foundation on which much more in-depth knowledge has been built. After doing so, Jasper joined the team at Helen Browning Organics as head chef, where he continued to advance his curing expertise to a new level, advising the brand on low-nitrate curing issues and performing advanced research into the microbiology of curing. During the course of his tenure, he became Michelin-rated at Helen's pub The Royal Oak at Bishopstone, Wiltshire and was at the helm when Times Online cast it as the 12th best in the UK. He also held 3 stars in the Good Food Guide, and hopes to keep his hand-in by making the best bacon butties for anyone that wants one. Although he is one of the few chefs to successfully develop an independent organic product into supermarket shelves, Jasper is better known for his evangelism encouraging local and artisan producers (Alsitair Sawday's Special Places award for Local, Seasonal and Organic Produce award) In 2008 Jasper was invited by the Slow Food Movement to represent the UK as a chef delegate in Turin. Since handing over the No1 slot at the Royal Oak, Jasper has written an expert curing course and is now based at The Old Butchery in Bishopstone, Wiltshire, advising major brands and small farm-shops alike. He has since been a Judge at The Organic Good Food Awards 2009/10 where he finally managed to eat too much bacon (A lifelong ambition) Various books, newspaper articles, radio presentations have made use of his
AboutFace MarketingAngela Coulter has been in strategic marketing management for more than 21 years. She spent more than 17 years leading marketing efforts in corporate America; in 2006, she left her job as Director of Global Marketing at a large multinational to create a small business. Soon she found that the more business owners she knew, the more she became their counsel: Though many wanted to get their businesses "to the next level," often they had no idea how to reach their goals, or how to start! In 2008, her ag business suffered with the economy. At the same time, Ms.Coulter's "side" marketing business had steadily grown to a point where she decided to make that her full-time effort. Soon after, AboutFace Marketing was born - and thrives today! Throughout her career, Angela has always had a gift for seeing the big picture, how to create and develop the best brand for the product or company, and how to package everything a company produces for their market(s) to consistently convey that brand message. She's always stayed on the cutting edge by continually integrating new and innovative technologies into the marketing mix, to provide the most powerful yet efficient tools to accomplish an organization's goals. Angela also loves to look at a business' overall vision (as well as helping company leaders develop that vision), then look at all of the pieces of the puzzle to form strategic marketing plans that help to reach that vision. She is especially enamored with that "puzzle" in helping established small and medium businesses! Her marketing skills have excelled in a variety of industries, including (but not limited to) the "green"/environmental industry, organics, holistic health care, foods/agriculture, pharmaceuticals/biotechnology, high-tech/telecommunications, electrical distribution, industrial automation, and Wall Street financial services. Ms. Coulter holds a Bachelor's degree in Management and Organizational Development from Mount Olive College.

theresa mckeeBorn in a small Texas town, I have grown up with a rural attitude. Plano is now a suburb of Dallas, Texas and I live with my husband in the same area. In fact, we live in the one-hundred old home where I lived as a baby, in the mid 1950's. For all our married years, 35+, we have been restoring our old house, while raising kids and running our businesses. I owned and operated a Christian bookstore for almost 25 years before retiring and begin writing. My husband still owns a framing business and is working in the Dallas area. I enjoy the great outdoors as well as many hobbies involving construction, gardening, photography, building and organics. Sometimes I write with that Texas twang or drawl but my style is mainly an easy read. I love to write and voice my opinion and I like to remind people of the old days when things were much simpler, nostalgia, if you will. I have had several articles printed in our local newspaper and have written three unpublished books. I'm still working on the publishing part! I write to change the world and if that doesn't work at least I say what I belive to be important or helpful.
