  • Jane Krasley
I am a baby boomer child of the 50s and enjoy looking back at all those things that made us happy then: the simple toys, games that needed no props, soda fountains, 45s, etc. Oh how the innocence changed in the 60s when we all kind of dabbled in various forms of hippiness . And what a change from one decade to the next. When I was a kid of about 8 or 9 in the 50s I wrote my first illustrated book and really believed this is what I was born to do in life. Along came the 60s and the teenage years - I met my future husband (of 43 years!) when I was 15.. I was 19 and knew nothing when we got married...moved right from my parents house to live with him and had it all figured out: I skipped college because I was sure I would make a living selling my (awful) paintings. That didn t actually happen. But I did get involved in a partnership with a crafts consignment shop and then later opened up one of my own. After spending most of my 20s starving, I finally enrolled in college. I was one of those annoying older students that college freshman love to hate. But, surprisingly, I passed for one of them for at least the first year. During the time I was busy earning my degree, I worked as a photographer in the ad dept for a major department store in our area. I fell in love with the camera, but I never got over my love of art and writing. After getting my degree, I landed a job as a publicist for an art museum - perfect meld of my two loves. But as anyone who has ever worked for a non-profit can tell you, long hours and short salary are a given. I left the museum to open up a mail order record business, my other love being music. I operated this business out of my home and free-lanced as a photographer and writer during the 80s. After 20+ years of marriage, something was missing. Turns out it was the light of my life, a daughter born when I was 42! I sold the record business and have worked the last 20 years as a photographer.

  • Mary Jill Sheffield
Born and raised in the south by 2 very talented and creative parents. My family was creative we painted and we did drawings, played dress up, lots of baking and decorating. When I was 7 we moved to Atlanta Georgia and at one point my mother opened her own beauty salon in the downstairs of our home. When we were not running the shop we liked to work on creative projects. I can remember hanging wall paper and doing upholstry with my mom. Saturday nights we would draw cartoons and listen to beatles music. In my early years of school teachers and students would stand around me to watch me draw and color. I liked to do a sort of surrealism which meant that I had to be in a certain frame of mind, almost like a trance to do the art. I was in a gifted art programs for most of my accademic years. In my later teens my family moved back to Jacksonville Florida were I was born. As an adult became marketing executive for a fortune 500 company.

I am a firm firm firm firm and firm believer in the fact that human potential is infinite. It is universally far underutilized. Parents are crucial factors in creating a giant out of the tiny babies of the today. focussed efforts deliver the results of a very high order. children bloom to be "the" the masterpieces they were born to be.( the other side of the very common story i do not need to talk about sadly all of us know it and somehow are forced to believe it)i am in for a change

It has been fun and fulfilling to serve in many different capacities. I've served an apprenticeship as a funeral director, been a truck driver, attended and ministered to several churches in Cuba and Haiti, served three churches in the USA as a Pastor for more than twenty years. I have published articles on various topics. The stage of life I am now in, however, is the most enjoyable! There is nothing better than being a grandfather to four quite wonderful children, all of whom are under the age of 4 years. My passion throughout life has been to enable parents, teachers and others to use their talents and opportunities to build up others and equip others to fulfill their God designed destiny. Writing is an excellent way to accomplish all of those things so I invest about half of my time freelancing and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to write.
