Animal lover employed in the veterinary field for 15 years. Started out working in a small animal day practice and currently working at a 24 hour animal emergency facility. Experience in general pet care and medical emergencies. Also assists in arranging specialty care such as Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Radiology and Orthopedic Surgery. I was employed as a Veterinay Technician for 16 years, 5 of those years being in emergency and critical care at an emergency practice in Anchorage Alaska. I have seen ALOT of interesting cases. She spent several years as a full-time volunteer at the Humane Society of Missouri in St. Louis, where she worked primarily with large dogs on socialization and basic obedience to improve their chances for successful adoption. She joined the staff at Rover Oaks Pet Resort in 2005 "just for fun", and worked initially in customer service, doggie daycare, pet care management and as Director of Operations. Joy and Steve Smith (owner of Rover Oaks Pet Resort in Houston) became partners in Rover Oaks Pet Resort in Katy in late 2005 and worked throughout 2006 to oversee the construction and start-up of the new facility, which opened its doors that September.
