Alexandra EastburnMy name is Alexandra Eastburn and my passion is words. I absolutely love writing about an immense variety of subjects and aim to be a novelist one day. I began writing short stories and poems at a very early age and continued adding to my creative portfolio until I began college in 2004. At that time, I was forced to put my creative writing aside to focus on my core coursework, which mostly consisted of literature analysis, rhetoric, and theory with the occasional sprinkle of math and science. Once I completed my fundamental courses, I was able to reignite my fervor for creative writing through courses in Playwriting, Multimedia Composition, Advertising, and Novel Writing. After I graduated in 2008, I searched high and low for an entry-level position in publishing, editing, proofreading, or writing, but the timing was terrible and most firms were undergoing layoffs and hiring freezes due to the economy at the time. I was forced to reevaluate my career expectations and come to the realization that not all of my goals in the industry would immediately materialize. I moved back home to my parents house in Pennsylvania six months after I graduated and have been writing and searching for a creative outlet ever since.

Gretchen Suárez-PeñaI was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to Florida when I was two years old. When I was seven years old, I decided I wanted to be an engineer. At that age, I was not completely sure what an engineer was but I looked up to my aunt who was a practicing environmental engineer. I received my B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of South Florida in 2009. Upon completing my degree, I worked in Haiti and Costa Rica with Engineering Ministries International. I have combined seven years of internship and post graduate engineering experience in stormwater, structural, transportation, and environmental engineering. I currently live in Kansas with my husband who is an active duty officer in the Army. He just returned from a full year tour in Iraq. I currently work as the Assistant Public Works Director for a county office in Kansas. I received my Masters of Engineering in Environmental Engineering Sciences summer of 2011 through the University of Florida’s EDGE program. One of my greatest passions is water quality and treatment along with water conservation practices, which is why I specialized in water, wastewater and stormwater engineering for my master’s degree. Besides engineering, my other great passions are theatre and vocal performance, playwriting, cooking, fitness, running, cycling, theology, alternate energy, waste reduction, and faith based theological study. Along with these varied interests, I have many goals. Among them include obtaining my Professional Engineering license, running a marathon, and completing a sprint triathlon. Likewise, I would like to publish a play or musical, adopt children, and help my friend complete and publish a holistic sex education curriculum for faith based organizations. It would also be nice to own and operate my own engineering and environmental science consulting firm.

James L. BloorBorn and raised near Cleveland, OH, (1955) but spent most adult years in both Los Angeles and Ft. Lauderdale. Recently returned to the Cleveland area upon my disability retirement. I attened the Ohio University School of Journalism, was on the Dean's List, but fell in love and did not graduate. Am a former Contributing Writer (and columnist) at Frontier's Magazine (L.A.), regular contributor at HIVStopsWith Us.org, and am a produced playwright and a former winner of the Jane Chambers Memorial Gay Playwriting Award. I was a frequent contributor to Prime Health and Fitness (a Weider publication, now defunct) writing mostly about men's sexual health issues. Have also had several op-ed and opinion pieces published in various newspapers (Cleveland Plain Dealer, among them). I had essentially two careers; one as a mental health worker working on community hospital in-patient psych wards, but also some forensic psychiatry (about 10 yrs). My other career was as a housing official specializing in senior citizen housing and management programs in Los Angles - also about 10 yrs. I'm a devout agnostic, Democrat, dog-owner, and budding gardener - pun intended. I love to cook but hate to do dishes. I've been single and happy for ten years, but have more ex's than Zsa Zsa Gabor. I think technology has already outpaced humanity and that's partly why we're all a bit insane.
