Photography SelectWith over 20 years in the photography industry, Mark L. Johnson is available for portrait and wedding commissions in Connecticut, New York and nationwide. Mark's journey into photography began right out of school at a Manhattan photo lab where he worked to develop printing expertise that would present the opportunity to work with some of the nation's top photographers. Leaving New York to return to Connecticut he opened a small photo shop and gallery on the green in the center of Branford. There work migrated from the darkroom to behind the camera. Early work was mainly for theatre groups, actors and bands. He also created images of architecture and landscapes that would be shown locally and on the national stage at the prestigious Scollay Square Gallery at the Federal Building in Boston, Massachusetts. For the next 12 years Mark specialized in environmental portraiture and wedding photojournalism while donating spare time to local performance groups and charitable organizations. Mark's photography has appeared in numerous newspapers and publications including the New Haven Register, New Haven Advocate and Signature Kitchens. In 2004 Mark took a hiatus from photography to bring a sideline in web development that began a few years earlier to full-time. During recent years Mark has worked with many prominent photographers, film studios, and other businesses branding, developing and marketing their internet presence. You can see his web development portfolio at www.mtheoryit.com. Mark is again available for photographic commissions including weddings and portraits. Although the photographic industry has evolved dramatically in the digital era the eye of the artist remains the same.
