I began my professional career teaching fifth grade and ended up serving as director of liturgy (worship) at a large Catholic parish in Washington, DC. Along the way, I married, became the mother of three children, the grandmother of five, and am now divorced. My career has included preaching, editing parts of two books on preaching, writing several book reviews, co-authoring three articles for a professional journal. I am a wife, mother and Presbyterian minister living in the midwest. I love to read and write! In addition to preaching for the past 30 years, I have also had positions in journalism and social work. I swim three days a week, grow a big garden and do home canning, and I love to read and write mystery novels (I have written two so far). I attend church and read the Bible; I do a lot of personal study of religion. I have been a youth pastor for four years and have been preaching for nearly 10 years.
