After many unfulfilling years working as a jack-of-all-trades, I am attempting to navigate the rough waters of freelance writing in the storm of a recession with only my trusty fatcat at my side. With a background in Early Childhood Education, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Photography, Multimedia Production and a hodgepodge of experimental hobbies, I should have some interesting things to bring to the round table that is our beloved Internet. If not, well... what's one more article about the greatness of bacon going to hurt?

I am a recent graduate who lost her first job after six months due to the recession. I now have more time to devote to my passion which is writing. I started acting and dancing at a very young age, but as I grew older, I realized that while it was fun, it could not be a realistic career opportunity, although I feel I have more training in that then for my actual career which is business management. Which at the moment, is not a very good career choice until more jobs are added to the sector

I'm a freelance writer and an avid reader. I am an Indian by origin and living in USA for the last 2 years for educational purposes. I have seen the worst recession of my life. Thus, I have started to propagate the idea of educating others in sailing through recession and economic downturn.

Hello there. My name is Cody, and thanks for visiting my page. I can't call myself a "professional" writer, for there are nevertheless many things left for me to learn in the lettering world, but I can surely say I'm a decent writer. I enjoy writing about different topics, from headline news to personal financial development. Besides writing, learning is something I enjoy doing one of the most. I discover interest in numerous things in life, like different cultural backgrounds and eccentric forms of life, like strange animal species and also the extraordinary functionality of the human body. In general, I'm an all-around-type of writer. It's been some time now given that I first took on freelance writing. I've written many article on money management (my favored topic), also as its connection with the powerful consumer-driven world we live in. Numerous readers have voiced their appreciation for the types of contents I produce: the world of credit, loan products, student debt, personal money management, etc. Of course I also enjoy producing entertainment-type materials, but I feel these financial topics are of greater concern. In the minds of numerous consumers these days, saving money is a top concern. It wasn't always this way, nevertheless. Mass chaos is what is left of the recent economic recession. In particular, the ones who are not financially prepared were hit the hardest, for they had little to no idea on how to control the harsh economic impact. The ups and downs of the economy has shown numerous people the genuine importance of financial preparation, but most are still left lingering, unsure of what to do. That's why I enjoy writing so much. It allows me to reach out to those in need and really get down to the core of what must be done.

I am a 24-year old college graduate with a B.S. Degree in New Media Imaging from Walla Walla University. Meaning that with the current recession I have to try and find other things to make a living. I wrote the occasional article for our college newspaper, and was told by many people after one of my most successful articles that perhaps I should try writing more often. I've always had interests in a diverse number of topics, dipping my feet into art, engineering, programming, psychology, film-making and investing, among other subjects that catch my interest. The only thing I need to write is a passion for what I'm discussing. Thank you for reading.

I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband of 27 years and my three dogs. I was employed in the finance field until the great recession. Upon much soul searching and thought I decided not to return to the finance world but to turn my time and attention to the health care field and home. I have always loved to write and now find pleasure in writing, horseback riding and furthering my education in home health care. I am currently working on my first novel.
  • Changing Lives
In today's society with crime, recession, discouragement, poverty, depression, natural disasters, and the like, we need answers; we need faith; we need change. Don't you remember when there was a sense of security and peace in your community? When the "family table" was active and our children could play in the park without being gunned down by stray bullets? People everywhere are now seeking hope and consolation in a perilous time. At 1848 Linden Boulevard, corner of Malta Street in East New York, Brooklyn, there is a family whose leader has not just a vision, but a plan that will reconnect and realign families; that will teach our youth productivity to encourage their being a part of society's solution; that will dissolve the idea of absentee parents, divorce and teen parenting. There is a God-sent man, Pastor Paul B. Mitchell, along with his beautiful wife, Yasmin Mitchell, who cares about making a difference in our world. Changing Lives Christian Center (CLCC) is a non-denominational faith-based church filled with people who believe that our vested gifts and talents are given to us to use for the building up of God's people. Pastor Mitchell teaches about extending our faith toward God and he shares how the use of common and practical sense, when applied, can make positive "life-altering" differences in humanity. Through divine inspiration, he speaks and leaves listeners not only wanting more, but wanting change for the better. It's no wonder that his "Change Your Life with Pastor Paul B. Mitchell" radio broadcast is currently the most-listened to on New York's WLIB 1190 AM station and television broadcast, bearing the same name, on local Brooklyn and Manhattan cable networks is also most popular. As his wife, Yasmin, so eloquently puts it, "Pastor Mitchell is a contemporary E.F. Hutton-type personality. When God uses him to speak, people listen." Visit Changing Lives Christian Center for yourself and see that there is EXCELLENCE in East New York!

I grew up in southern California when it was still fairly easy to get around and before the days of smog. I remember strawberry fields and orange groves when they dotted the landscape. I left at the age of 31 to try and find work since at the time California was going through a recession. Sound familiar? I have lived in Reno, Nevada which in many ways reminds me of the southern California of old. I then with my husband and daughter moved to Mason City, Iowa. Then it was on to Oregon, to central California where there are still fields with fruit and vineyards. Then low and behold back to Iowa where I now live with my daughter in a small town outside of Sioux City. There are many things I enjoy.

Watched the birth of the internet while working various positions in software development, network management, email administration, and so on. Escaped the dot.com bust/accounting scandals that killed my last position by switching industries completely. I've been driving big trucks for a while, but that industry seems to be ramping up the driver-abuse because they think drivers are too scared of the recession to leave.... Now, I'm back where I belong!

  • Melody W. Doc of District 13
When I was a child I worked side by side with my dad renovating old homes he had purchased. When I entered high school I immediately opted for drafting, metals class and woodworking class. After graduating high school in 1991 with top honors, I entered Hesser College in Manchester NH for a degree in Real Estate Administration. However, the recession was on so my major was ultimately canceled due to lack of interest by other students. I instead graduated, president's list and Phi Theta Kappa, with an Associate's Degree In Business Administration in 1993. While attending college, during the summers, I worked for my grandmother at her apartment complex, Princeton Rooms And Apartments, in Seaside Heights NJ, as her property maintenance person. Undaunted by the lack of the degree I really wanted, I went on to the Charlene Mason Real Estate Seminars and the Realty World Seminars, eventually getting my real estate license and becoming a Realtor. In 2005 I graduated, dean's list, with a Residential Design Degree at The Art Institute Of Pittsburgh PA. Later I joined Associated Content where I began writing home improvement how to articles under my beloved grandfather's pen name and later became their Featured Home Improvement Contributor. At the beginning of 2009 I went full throttle into my home improvement dreams of opening a home restoration business catering to the middle to low income classes. That is when Mel's Affordable Home Restoration, LLC was born.
