I am a mom and wife, who loves to reuse, reduce and recycle! I love writing, environmental activism, and taking a stand for things which I believe are right. I never miss an opportunity to make something my own, or try something at home.

I have been working as a biomedical research scientist for the past 10 years. During this time I have explored how nature employs subtle and dubious ways to convert this unique machine called human body into an experience of pain and suffering, only to be disposed of as a pack of atoms to mother earth to recycle. Even as I decry this cruel behavior of nature, I am awestruck at its genius in making the human body and letting it perform miraculously on a continuous basis. An average human of the 21st century, who lives for 70 or 80 years, never gets to know how nature works inside him/her. He/she rarely even begins to comprehend the miracle of the body. How many molecules? How many genes? How many pathways? How those pathways are integrated to work in a well-coordinated and balanced network? The more one understands the subtle yet incredibly complex, sturdy yet unbelievably nimble and simple yet arcane attributes of the human body, the more he/she will be forced to appreciate it. We have to appreciate it. No chance. I have done research work on cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease. I would like to put my experience and knowledge for better use by publishing scientific articles in yahoo. My focus is on intriguing articles on latest research discoveries, alternative medicine and general health.

Don't know what it is yet? Still looking for it? I would love to help you find it! My personal styleosophy is a look that's polished, confident and just a tad conservative. It's what I call "business sexy", clothes that are tailored, fitted, almost clingy, yet showing no skin; accentuating and accessorizing with unusual touches. My superpower is the ability to help you see your personal style in a more flattering way. It seems vain at times, but I think everyone has moments when they question if they look their very best. Want to revamp and recycle that wardrobe, but don't know where to start? I adore putting you at ease about reworking what you already have into new looks. I love helping folks love the way they look! It's a confidence that beams, and exudes a different presence. I love to get dressed and I love to help others get dressed!!! Who do I help? My service is for busy women and men who need help defining their styleosophy to present the best looking version of themselves. Ugly style is everywhere, and you do not have to participate! Wanna chat? Got a burning style question? Contact me: email: styleosophy at gmail dot com twitter: @styleosophy Dress well, Glenyse

I was born and raised in very small town on Florida's Gulf Coast. It was a seafood town, primarily shrimp and oysters, both of which my father fished to make his living. My mother also worked in the oyster industry shucking oysters. In my early years, we had very little, but we never went hungry and always had food and a warm roof over our heads. The seafood industry is hard work and inconsistent. The example set by my parents was one of hard, honest work and making do with what you have and being thankful for it, and sharing it with those less fortunate than ourselves. Also, as many people from the depression era, our parents taught us to not waste anything: not food, not possessions and not money. We were part of the original recycling movement, we just didn't have a symbol. We grew up with a solid knowledge of reduce (that one mostly took care of itself) reuse and recycle (you'd be surprised how many things you can make from an empty milk jug) That education was so engrained in us that today, when I empty a container, I immediately think of what I could use it for, before I throw it away. I love yard sales and thrift stores, and don't even get me started on "curbside shopping". I married right out of high school and had two children before my marriage ended. I married a teacher, so money was still tight in our house. All my life and enjoyed music of all types. I loved to sing with my sisters, and was harmonizing before I even knew there was a word for it. I have spent many years singing in church choir and other activities that were an extension of that them. Three years after my divorce, to all the people that knew me, I moved from Florida to New York City to marry my 2nd husband. The transition wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, except that people couldn't always understand my southern accent. After about six years of marriage, we adopted a pair of twin brother pugs (from Florida). Our love of them and our desire to le
  • Andrea Chisari
Andrea attended the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Literature and nearly earned a Master of Arts in Latin before the financial aid ran out. She loves animals, sailing, and Nature walks. She adopted two dogs (former strays), who she spoiled shamelessly and who now run her life. She champions the environment, animal rights, and underdogs. She designs one-of-a-kind jewelry from repurposed and up-cycled items that she sells online and at local craft fairs and flea markets. Andrea lives in Florida, where the effects of climate change are all too well known in the fires that rage through what used to be the rainy season, and doesn't care whether you call it climate change, global warming or merely the results of too much pollution, she just wishes more people would try to do something about it. Andrea is a positive voice for change, strongly urging her family and friends to remember to bring their own bags when grocery shopping, litterbags for other people's trash when walking (no one she knows would dare litter), and to reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle.

As a professional in the technology field, it can be somewhat straining on the brain with the vast amount of information coming at you on a daily basis. My stress relief has turned into my passion. I design and create jewelry using a wide variety of techniques including fused glass, metal clay, and a variety of found objects. I started incorporating found objects as a way to recycle other than sorting my cans and plastics to keep them out of the local landfill. I was a staff reporter for the Creston News Advertiser for a few years, which improved my writing ability and also helped me to better understand some of the environmental issues facing our local water supplies. Teaching courses in business and computer applications at Southwestern Community College affords me the opportunity to teach as well as learn, which is a lifelong goal.

I can write endlessly about virtually anything else other than myself. So, okay, here are the basics. I'm of the variety born-in-the-early-80's-in-the-Deep-South, and I have finally been able to come to terms with that. I've been married for almost 11 years, and I have three boys;one ten, and the twins are 5. I feel what qualifies me to write on this site is not so much professional experience in writing; but experience in life in general. ( I realize at this point, there will be some of you wondering just how much experience I could have. More than you think, bub!) I've lived long enough to remember reading about "the exciting new development that scientists are calling the information superhighway or "internet" in the 3rd grade Weekly Reader. I've also lived long enough to see fashions recycle themselves and are anxiously awaiting the return of the flannel-clad '90's! I'm also currently living through trying to raise three children, manage a marriage I've been in since I was 18, as well as deal with aging parents, who will have no Social Security. I think that qualifies me as a fairly hardy specimen that knows how to research information and relay it to people in a manner where they can get the most out of it. That's about it for me at this point, but I'll be sure to keep everybody posted as soon as the next lightning bolt rocks my little life!!

I am passionate about reading and writing! My last 9 years of my profession has been spent in the classroom instructing students how to read and write effectively. When I'm not improving student's learning, I am enjoying baking, arts and craft, gardening and traveling. These hobbies afford me the opportunity to get away and become creative. Some of the foods I've baked are cheesecake, pound cakes, bread puddings, zuchinni bread and many more. Some of the countries that I've visited are Barbados, Venezuela, The Cayman Islands and Aruba. My gardens that I create during spring can range from various flowers, fruits and vegetables from which I've harvested sufficient to share with my neighbors. Gardening also allows me to indulge in nature experimentally, as I create compost. Thus, I'm able to recycle vegetables and seedlings. Knitting blankets is also a favorite past time since it totally relaxes me. Some of the items I've created are throws and blankets - which make great gift items during the holidays. So, I would consider myself to be open to new and different ideas; one who is always curious about methods of making life more fulfilling.
  • Craig Bean
Hi, I'm Craig Bean. My wife Sherry & I have been married for over 26 years, and have always shared a similar sense of financial discipline. I retired earlier this year, at the age of 48. We've long seen the concepts of reduce, reuse, recycle as good for our finances, as much as they're good for the environment. More than occasionally we've been ridiculed as overly tight, frugal, or even cheap, but as the years have gone by, we've felt vindicated that the path we have chosen is a valid one, and one that has lead to the early retirement I have long been shooting for. Those same choices have allowed Sherry to work only part time over the years. We hope to share some of our insights with others, with the belief that something will resonate, and will make a positive difference for at least one person! I am a long time motorcycle rider, and have been involved in the art of bonsai for about 15 years. Parents of 2, and grandparents of 2, we both like to spend time with the kids, and travel when possible.

I recently earned a Master's degree in biology, which examined effects of environmental stressors on frog health. I am the mother of a little boy, and am currently re-entering the job market. I exercise every day and eat healthy foods, which I love to cook. I have a green conscience, and I do my best to reduce, reuse and recycle. I keep track of world headlines, and I read novels for personal pleasure. I have traveled to exotic locations, and hope to do so again soon. The best thing that ever happened to me was becoming a mother.
