I have lived to tell the tale, after years duelling manfully with a variety of news editors, some of whom I certainly would not take home to meet my grandmother. My oddly inquisitive mind is the reason for my plethora of interests, which others less kind might link to some kind of degeneration of my brainpower. If there’s a hard school of knocks for journalists, I’ve been battered around more times than I can remember, and still manfully came back for more. For my sins, I am a freelance journalist who was Reporter of the Year in Scotland twice, although this cuts no ice with any of my friends, bookie, or publican. I have extensive experience of the national media, having worked for The Sun, Sunday Times, Daily Record, Sunday Mail, Sunday Mirror, People, and numerous other publications, including U.S. based publications and websites. Originally I was a sports reporter covering mainly football and golf, and moved into major news investigations in the 1990s. I’ve covered Open Golf Championships, Royal events, met astronauts and Heads of State, and even knocked out gripping (my words) pieces for the kind of OTT magazines much enjoyed by our American chums across the water.
  • Lance Kirkland
I am a 37 year old male living in Oregon. I was born and raised in the Portland metro area. I grew up a Blazers, Seahawks & Oregon Duck fan. I am blessed to be married to a beautiful brunette that despite my many "liabilities" has decided to stay the course with me. For that I am deeply indebted to her. We have been blessed to have 2 amazing daughters that every day make us more and more thankful to God for the opportunity to be their parents. We work hard every day to not take that for granted and to be the best parents we can be. We are strong Christians and believe that Jesus Christ came to earth to die for our sins. He rose and ascended to heaven after 3 days and is seated at the right hand of God our Father. We know that everything we have is a blessing from God. We, also, know that God is with us during the hard times and will never abandon us. While we don't always understand why things happen we trust in Him and know that it is all part of His plan. That is what truly brings us comfort. That there is an order and logic to everything, even if we can't see it and it feels like there isn't.

  • Ann Williams
I was born in 1949. I live thirty two miles away from where I was born. I have been married twice to the same man and divorced twice. I have one son and helped raise my nephew. During those years I had many children come in and out of my home. They are mine also. I started my work life out as a waitress at the age of 16. Over twenty years I had many jobs. I have always worked around people. In 1988 I started working at the Hendry County Sheriff's Department. I spent 15 years as a communications operator. Most of that time you worked alone. We had three fire departments, EMS and the deputies and investigators to keep up with. I was an auxilary deputy and an auxilary corrections officer for a while. I am a born again Pentecostal. With full pardon for my sins and I recieved the baptism of the Holy Ghost. It is found in Acts 2. When you recieve the baptism of the Holy Ghost you will speak in tongues (another language). I have taught Sunday School, Childrens Church, and picked up people driving the buse or a van. I love helping and being able to give. I sometimes cry when I see a baby or a beautiful butterfly in the yard. Over the years my lifes goal was to do the best I can with what I have. I have always been a listener. Being able to listen to people is a gift. I still work and I still listen. Sometimes that's all someone needs is for someone to listen to them. My life has been filled with family and people. I feel that I have three families. My natural family and the kids that came through my life, my church family and my work family. If you ever were giving the title of "that's one of my kids" , you were mine. Many of them over the years I have forgot their names, but God knows and when I pray about my kids, he knows.
  • Rowland C Carper Jr.
I am Rowland Carper from Ohio. I am married for 23 years now, have three boys that I am very proud of and four grand kids that I just adore. I am on disability/retirement from law enforcement since 2003. I had 14 years of service. I love to write. It has always been a passion of mine. I also write as therapy for wounds deep in my heart. I am counting on God our Father and Jesus Christ his son to help heal those wounds and finally come to terms with them. Through my travels of life I am seeking true Christianity. With help of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit I am sure I will reach my goal. I have given myself to God and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus of all sins. As i am man and will still sin I know that God will forgive me. All I have to do is confess my sin and ask for his forgiveness. I am proud to say that I do not travel alone, as always Jesus Christ is with me in my heart and my wife is with me by by side. This pleases me very much for I know that when we die we be able to spend eternity together in the kingdom of God. As I learn from reading spiritual motivational books, scripture and what is forwarded to us from the preacher at church from God. I find myself getting stronger and stronger to fight off the evil ways of the devil. Material things are nothing. It's the Faith and Love of Jesus Christ and God that sets us free. I have opened my heart and hope that you can to as we travel through these days of our lives to become true Christians. I just recently started reading. I used to hate to read but until I purchased my wife a Nook and downloaded a spiritual motivational book from the library for me on it. I wouldn't touch a book. Now I have my own Nook and I am reading the series "The Left Behind." by Lahaye. I am on the second series and I tell you once you start reading, Christian or not, you can not put it down. He has a way with words that makes the words just glow and grab you by the soul. It was the first spiritual

  • Andrew Martin
Andrew Martin emerged upon the world in the late 1960s as a member of a classically-eccentric Jewish family from New York City with a decidedly-theatrical bent. Since that time, he has gone on to devote his life to the fields of entertainment and journalism, whether as an award-winning writer and musical theatre performer, a stand-up comedian, a film historian, or in broadcasting (supposedly, he has a great face for radio). He still lives in his native Rego Park section of Queens, apparently to pay some great karmic price for past sins.
  • Mama Heartfilled
Sis. Kimberly Marie Hartfield is an Ordained Minister in the Evangelical Faith. She lives in Hattiesburg, MS, and is a mother of eight children. Kim has personally experienced the healing hand of God in her own life as God has brought her through diverse tribulations during the course of her lifetime. Through God's merciful forgiveness of her own sins and His grace given to her to forgive those who have been stumbling blocks, she has overcome many of these trials. She believes that God has blessed her with the ability to confront and relate these commonly experienced issues to the Christian community in her writing, which she uses as a basis for her ministry. Go Fish Ministries, Inc is primarily for victims of sexual and domestic violence, but is also a ministry for the unchurched and churched population in general, as Jesus said, Follow me and I will teach you to fish for others. Kim's love for the Lord, along with her passion for writing has drawn her to explore areas of crisis from the perspective of her own experience in the hope that she may bring an empathetic and compassionate insight to God's people through her ministry. She believes that as many biblical writers were less than perfect, ordinary people with a strong faith, that with her own strong faith, God can and will do something extraordinary in her less than perfect, ordinary life. Kim has been called to the homeland mission field of North America and hopes to be able to use her writing as a tool for the ministry of witnessing to the grace of God and comforting God's people with the truth of God's mercy. She claims II Corinthians 1: 3 & 4 as her calling, which states: "May Yahweh God be blessed, the God our Christ Yeshua comes from, the God all mercies come from, and the God all comforts come from; Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we may be able to comfort those, who are in any kind of trouble, with the same kind of comfort that we ourselves have been comforted with by God."

Michael Walsh is a husband, father, motivational speaker, evangelist, missionary, and fitness enthusiast. He and his wife, Amy, have two boys and a girl. Michael has seven years of experience as a youth minister in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati where he started his speaking career, but its been for the past four years that he has focused his efforts on engaging and motivating people of all ages throughout the United States of America, Canada, Central America and Singapore to live out their lives to the fullest. Over the past few years Michael has seen how fitness and good nutrition can be used to help us grow and overcome obstacles in our lives. Michael is a Certified Conditioning Coach and Trainer and uses that knowledge to better equip people to live and fulfill their obligations and responsibilities to family, friends and the community at large. "I have found that the three things people say they do not have time for are the three things that are essential to human living; faith, fitness and nutrition. You don't have to be a body builder or have the so-called "perfect body", but being active, eating healthy and having a strong faith in Jesus Christ helps one to not only take care of the body God gave us, but to discipline oneself, gain energy, fight stress and overcome sins such as sloth, gluttony, pride, lust, anger and many others. In the end, if one focuses on the body, soul and mind, that person will become a better Christian, spouse, parent, son or daughter. It will help us all to live out our vocations in life." I have been redeemed... by the blood of the Lamb Jesus of Nazareth...who was slain for the sins of humankind...and was raised from the dead in glorious resurrection power...and who currently is seated at the right hand of The Majesty on High...patiently awaiting for the full number of Gentiles to enter into the knowledge of Christ, the love of the truth, and an unswerving faith upon the Rock Jesus Christ. Thank God He indeed changed my story! My biography-- begins and ends-- with and in-- the Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed me, even as I foolishly espoused my childish belief that there was no God. But in May of 1998 on a bright starry night in downtown Baltimore, the heavens truly declared the glory of the Creator God to me. It was as if I gazed upon the brilliance of the night sky for the very first time-- and my whole energy was charged in a physically present manner...and that night, at the age of 19, I first gave a thought to the potential presence of a Grand Designer Creator God. Think on it. The moon seemingly hangs with glory in the night sky as the radiant stars sparkle like freshly fired diamonds lacing the deep black expanse blanketing the mystery that is Earth...humanity...the world...and the high spiritual influences that spar within it. I pray that my story is truly to be a SOLDIER in/for Jesus Christ as the dark Aquarian age settles upon the sea of humanity. Follow my story...

I am studying to become a minister. My goal is to show people a side of faith they may not have seen in a while, one that is based on the Truth instead of man's desire to control how people think and feel about God. My thoughts are that people are turning away from God because man has failed Him. I hope that in the time He has given me, I can do a little bit to turn a few people around. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more" Hebrews 8:12

  • Katherine Nace
Well, in reference to myself, I have a few things to say. I rather enjoy contemplating the hypocrisies and mysteries of life (which is a peculiar thing all by itself)...and I find that literature sheds great light on the rather nasty side of humanity(which I'm so apt to ponder), the side that we like to shove in a corner, obscure in shadow, and pretend not to exist. Fortunately, writing empowers the individual to say what he would never dare to utter in public: to criticize, analyze, and condemn. It acts as the confessional screen, hiding the face but allowing the sins to be announced nevertheless. Conversely, literature does a wonderful job of illuminating the praiseworthy aspects of this life: the way shafts of wheat sway in the wind, the tilt of a lover's smile, the embrace of a long lost friend, the inward glow of a gentle spirit, and the manifestation of familial love, etcetera. Actually, C. S. Lewis sums it up quite nicely. "Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become"...But, bringing my ramblings to a close and returning to the bibliography, I am a collegiate debater, an avid reader, an enthralled student, a singer, a lover of learning, an appreciator of enlightened thought, and an overjoyed writer writer...the end.

  • Karen Healey
My name is Karen Healey, and I live on a tiny farm northeast of Greeley, Colorado, in an old farmhouse that I proudly claim is the ugliest in Weld County (even though I've been told differently). For more years than I care to admit I raised day old Holstein calves. The object was to grow them to about 250 pounds (3 - 4 months old), take them to the sale barn with a prayer to the market gods, and get a check big enough to pay the bills. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Like any farming venture, it was labor and capital intensive. 2007-08 was nuts when, thanks to the banksters and the speculators, commodities climbed into the stratosphere while at the same time cattle prices fell off a cliff, especially Holstein steers. Some producers were forced out of business, some declared bankruptcy. I was one of the former. Everyone else hung on by their fingernails, dairys and feedlots were hit the hardest. Currently, I'm employed to babysit smaller weaned calves. I enjoy what I do even though, occasionally, questions about my sanity crop up, like when it's below zero and the wind is blowing. Favorite indoor activities include reading, baking when the mood strikes, and keeping up on politics and the shenanigans of the banksters. Hooray for Occupy Wall Street!
