After serving for six years in the active duty Air Force I have decided to take on the role of non-traditional student at a community college in Sioux City, Iowa. I'm studying Mass Media with a focus in broadcasting. In addition to broadcasting, I have also taken an interest in the art and science of filmmaking. I am a stay at home father of 3 and I also enjoy songwriting (which has been a hobby of mine for 15+ years).

I graduated from Bellbrook High School, I am currently studying music business at Anderson University, and I go to Christian rock concerts like it is my job. I love songwriting and making music. Music is a great part of my life and I can't imagine life without it, just as I can't imagine life without the Good Book. Oh yes, and I love the Gunsmoke reruns. I stand up for things that I believe in, and that I believe to be right. But life has taught me that there are some things you just can't change. I firmly believe that you can do anything you believe in your heart that you can do. My Mom taught me that I just gotta believe in myself. My life's had its share of ups and downs, disappointments and bad decisions, but when the final curtain falls, I would hope that folks could say that I was a good sport in this game of life, and when I walk my final steps I ask no special favors. I only want to believe in my heart that I played as well as I could with the hand that I was dealt, and when the hard blows came my way that I handled them with courage, dignity, and to the best of my abilities. And most importantly, I hope that I will remember that God never deals a player more than he or she can handle.

Peter Merz, grew up in Southern California where he lived until 20004. In 2004 Peter relocated to Bangor, Maine where he currently resides. Peter majored in Religion and History at California Baptist University; majored in History and minored in Christian Studies at Campbellsville University. While at Campbellsville University, Peter served as a staff writer and Creative Writing Editor for the Campus Times. Peter also serves a moderator for several online Christian Songwriting Groups.
