I served my apprenticeship in manufacturing in the UK and Australia, becoming a company director at age 30. Since then I have started/run 5 businesses in consulting, strategy and large scale organisation change. I have been a volunteer business mentor for 14 years and many of those clients are still friends. For some years I traveled the Pacific Islands teaching public sector management, made many friends and gathering interesting stories. In a few years time my students will run the governments in their countries because they are such good people. Today I run a website www.bizlearn.biz devoted to really useful business ideas, tools, topics and techniques, and I am looking for contributors. I am a sailor with two of the worlds great ocean races under my belt, Sydney-Hobart and Melbourne-Hobart. I now live in a beautiful private patch of Kauri bush in New Zealand, and enjoy the birds living in the 100 foot trees around our tree house in the canopy. I love cooking for my partner and friends but refuse all suggestions that I should open a restaurant. We receive frequent visits to our haven of peace from friends around the world, and out philosophy is the "when you live in paradise, the world will come to you."
