I have over 30 years expertise in ceramic arts and recently have brought that to the web. My greatest experience came from owning and operating a small retail ceramic shop in the north Texas area, where I made and sold greenware and bisque. I held classes on various techniques and projects to encourage my customers to learn about the various processes used in ceramics. My favorite techniques involve fired colors - underglazes and glazes. I have published blogs and websites to promote interest and knowledge of low-fire ceramics as well as technical processes in the industry. I am particularly enthused by the use of art and ceramics in occupational therapy as well as enhancing the learning abilities of youth. My passion is high on this topic and I hope to share it here. Other hobbies I enjoy are flying radio controlled scale planes, gardening, and I dabble in real estate. The radio controlled scale planes is a unique area with a great deal of technical information I've learned over the last three years. Gardening and real estate have been a huge part of my life for over 15 years and most of my activity with it is second nature - not so much technical as heart felt. Thank you for your interest in my work and sharing information through the art of writing.

  • The Texas Bohemian
I am an observer. I look, listen, and learn from everything. I refuse to believe anything that cannot be verified. and must look truth,as ugly as it may be, square in the eyes. Most people live in a world they define with limits, rights, wrongs and reasons. They live in a self-defined box. But a few people cannot justify living in a box. Belief and reality conflict. Reality is skewed and confusing for every human but for those who refuse to have reality dictated to them by others, reality is all there is. I live in reality. If you do not understand what I mean you will never understand me. We are who we are. Our personality, passions and pursuits are guided far more by a thousand years of genetics than it is by anything else, be that religion, experience or choice. The only legitimate struggle for any person is to understand who we are and how we fit themselves into the world we live. Anything else is a waste of time. My writing has always been an effort to figure out who I am, what the world is, and where I fit in it. I believe in honesty and truth, no matter where it takes us, who it offends, or how unattractive it may be. I"m never apologetic, often inconsiderate, sometimes deliberately unkind or unpleasant. Whether it's a travel piece, a news story or whatever, tell the truth, be direct, pull no punches. Anyone who fluffs their stuff to sell it is a greedy coward, a cheat and a liar. At present I am living at home with a wife and two kids. I've cooked burgers, driven trucks, done welfare casework. I've managed restaurants, been a maintenance mechanic and worked as a radio DJ. I have a degree in history with training in an assortment of areas from advertising to legal writing. I've written articles, essays, short stories, poetry and books. I have an insatiable curiosity. I'm a perpetual student. I love travel, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, Ziegenboch, hanging with people that are not offended when I am myself.
