UBS increased its price target for Sonic Automotive (NYSE:SAH) to $15.00 from $14.00 after the company reported better than expected earnings.UBS maintained its neutral rating as well as its EPS estimate of $1.30 for 2011.Sonic Automotive has a potential upside of 9.8% based on a current price of $14.57 and an average consensus analyst price target of $16.

TRW Automotive (NYSE:TRW) reported Q4 EPS of $1.76, well above consensus estimates of $1.24 per share. Revenue totaled $3.7 billion, above the Street target of $3.46 billion. EBITDA in the quarter rose to $426 million, up from $384 million in the year-ago period.The company said it sees full-year sales of $14.9-$15.3 billion (vs. consensus estimates of $15.23 billion) and sees Q1 sales of $3.9 billion (vs. estimate of $3.81 billion).TRW's planning assumptions for industry production volumes are approximately 12.7 million units in North America and 18.7 million units in Europe, up 7% and flat, respectively, compared to 2010 levels.Chairman, President and CEO John Plant said, "TRW ended the year with a significantly improved capital structure including a record low net debt level and strong performance on reducing the Company's legacy liabilities. The outstanding business performance achieved in 2010 demonstrates TRW is executing the right strategy for long-term success."

"Penske Automotive (NYSE:PAG) reported Q4 EPS of $0.32, ahead of consensus estimates of $0.26 per share. Revenues for the quarter rose 13.5% to $2.80 billion, topping consensus estimates of $2.63 billion. Total retail unit sales increased 13.9% and total same-store retail revenues increased 9.1%.Penske Automotive Group Chairman Roger Penske said, "Our results exceeded my expectations, An improving retail environment in the U.S. drove our business in the fourth quarter, including a 13.8% increase in same-store total retail unit sales and a 7.0% increase in same-store service and parts revenues. In the U.K., our execution and our brand mix helped us to outperform the market and provide a strong contribution of profits despite difficult comparisons due to the government incentive programs in place last year."

"The subsidiaries of Rush Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ:RUSHA) and Asbury Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE:ABG) have entered into an acquisition agreement, in which Rush Truck Centers of Georgia, Inc. will purchase assets from Asbury Automotive Atlanta, LLC, reports Street Insider.The deal is scheduled to close in the first quarter of 2011, subject to closing conditions including the approval of Nalley Motor Trucks-represented manufacturers.The acquisition will reportedly be an all-cash deal.Shares of Rush Enterprises are trading 3.07% higher on the news, at $18.79, as are shares of Asbury Automotive Group, which are up 3.78% Thursday afternoon at $16.75.Rush Enterprises had sales growth of 0.4% during the last fiscal year.The company has reported $1.3 billion in sales over the past 12 months and is expected to report $2.0 billion in sales in the next fiscal year."
