Seafood Watch, a program of the Monterey Bay Aquarium began about 10 years ago to help raise consumer awareness and promote business practices to protect the ocean?s fish populations from overfishing, pollution, and native habitat destruction. Seafood Watch, in addition to compiling up to-date, and reliable information on marine life and the ocean?s ecosystems, produces a series of small pocket seafood guides, organized by region, to help consumers make informed choices about the fish they eat.

Google Earth 5.0 gives you lots more information and lots more to see on this beautiful Earth.

In Google Earth you can control what you see on the Earth by turning layers on or off. You can also control other aspects of the program by using the View menu, which changes your world view. You can choose to see the surface of the ocean, get a map legend, see a latitude and longitude grid and even follow the sun as it makes its way across the sky.

Coast Guard video shows the red hull of the Lady Mary on the bottom of the ocean off the coast of New Jersey. The sunken scallop boat was found 211-feet below water last week.The video, taken by a remote-operated vehicle, starts with a ghostly image of the Lady Mary sitting mostly upright. It was shown Wednesday at an investigation into the March 24 accident, which claimed six lives. The day before, authorities heard from the sole survivor, Jose Luis Arias, about the moments before he abandoned ship. Arias said the vessel was listing 30 degrees, 12-foot waves were crashing against the hull and the captain seemed unable to control the vessel. Testimony also revealed the captain and one crewman had used marijuana at some point before the accident.

Friends of a man who died recuing two boys from the ocean are saddened but not surprised. They say Charlie Schulz lived for others.
