Exercises and Stretches for Younger People Who Suffer from ArthritisToday I am going to be demonstrating a few different exercises and stretches that are accessible to people with arthritis. Many people hear the word arthritis and think of older people exclusively, and while the numbers are in that demographic, there are younger people who have genetic disorders (like myself with Osteogenesis Imperfecta) and predispositions who suffer from arthritis...in this video I am going to demonstrate some movements towards this segment. Be sure to talk to your doctor before beginning an exercise program. If you are an arthritis sufferer who wants a cardio midday pick me up, you are obviously not going to be going for a run. When you first start out you are going to want to walk, but as time goes by you can begin to incorporate some lateral motions which you can do while maintaining a walking pace. Other movements: Hamstring curls, bicep curls without weight/with weight/with a resistance band, Pilates hundred variations, quadricep stretch, calf stretch.
Video Guide to Exercises for Arthritis SufferersToday I am going to share a few different exercises, stretches, and workouts that you as an Arthritis sufferer can do. Along with all exercises and activities you should always check with your doctor first. We are going to be including a little of the Oriental art of Tai Chi, yoga, and some other cardio and other low impact exercises that you can do. Tai Chi warm-up. Breathe in with head straight. Exhale as head turns. Left arm up palm down. Right arm palm up. Inhale and twist alternately. An inexpensive item that can be utilized is an expanding band. You can take the rubber band, coil it into a ball, put it in palm, squeeze. For more effort with the band, take it, fold it in half, wrap around hand, and reach over head. Use the band to get a side stretch. Another way to warm yourself up and to get those joints and arm and legs moving in the beginning is to do a little walking in place. Over time gradually move legs higher and higher and begin to increase your arm motions
